Pit Bull Has 11 Puppies and Finds the Sweetest, Safest Space to Keep Them

It's official: Dogs are not of this earth.

A pit bull named Grayce had only been in her new foster home for a few weeks when she gave birth to a litter of 11 (!!!) puppies. Her foster mom, Stevoni Wells Doyle—who has over ten years’ experience fostering—knew Grayce was pregnant and decided to take her in because “she needed a safe environment to have her pups,” according to The Dodo.

But the size of the litter wasn’t what surprised Doyle. Rather, it was the way Grayce took her puppies by the scruff and—one by one—brought them to Doyle and placed them in her lap. While it’s a little uncertain why Grayce decided to bring her puppies to her foster mama, Doyle has a guess: “I think she feels unsure still as a new mom. And she needed love and reassurance from someone she loves and trusts. I’m honored that she chose me to do this with.”

If you’re in the Utah area and would like to adopt Grayce (who will be spayed once she has recovered) or one of her puppies, they will be available through Rescue Rovers Dog Adoptions in about eight weeks.
