Packing a brownbag lunch always sounds a lot easier than it is. Sure, it can be a healthy, quick, cost-effective way to feed yourself on busy weekdays. All you have to do is pack some leftovers or make a salad or sandwich, and off you go! But what if you don't have leftovers? What if you hate leftovers? What if your fridge is pretty much empty? And what if you pack yourself a lunch and then feel sad when you open your bag—then ditch the whole plan and stuff your face with some greasy, totally bad-for-you takeout?
The inventors of Prepd have a solution for all this, and the massive success of their Kickstarter campaign so far proves they've tapped into a hungry, desperate market of too-busy-to-lunch-properly types. As of press time, PrepD's inventors had already raised a whopping $622,000 of their $25,000 goal so far. If you want to be part of this potentially life-changing lunch revolution, the campaign is on until February 26.
How does Prepd work? It's a sleek lunchbox filled with modular glass containers, and it comes with a recipe app that helps you put together delicious lunches created with the help of chefs and nutritionists—and designed to fit perfectly into those glass containers. The app not only plans your meals for you; it also counts your calories. So, will it be easy to use, or will it just add to your weeknight stress? Er, you be the judge...
No word yet on whether the app will also help you pair wines or cocktails with your lunch. Then again, apparently no one drinks at lunch anymore; so sad.
