How much do you love ramen? If you really, really love it a lot, now you can do better than just eat it. You can crawl inside a bowl of warm, comforting ramen, and become one with your favorite soup.
Village Vanguard, a Japanese-based novelty shop, has launched a collection of bath powders based on ramen, miso, and curry broths. The bath powders come in packets that look just like actual ramen packeting, but they're not intended to be eaten. Instead, you throw them in your bath, then simply kick back and breathe in the scents of the soup as you essentially turn yourself into ramen.
These bath powders are selling for 324 yen each, about $3. But they come with a warning: “Be careful, because these bath powders could make you hungry.”
No doubt they will. But we're willing to take that chance.
As for ramen baths, they actually aren’t all that new as a concept. Yunessun Spa House in Hakone, a town in southeastern Japan, has a literal (not just flavored) ramen bath, and it’s popular with locals and visitors. The pork-flavored broth at the spa often includes collagen too, to help rejuvenate your skin—as if you needed an extra incentive.
