Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna will welcome their baby girl any day now, but it hasn’t been an easy road to the delivery room. The controversial couple has weathered public fights and uncertainty about the future throughout their relationship.
Since the duo first went public with their romance in January 2016, it hasn’t exactly been an easy union. The Kardashian family were unhappy from the beginning, the notoriously tightknit family eventually came around after discovering Chyna was pregnant. Tyga dating Kylie Jenner was only part of the problem.
A timeline of Rob and Chyna’s love affair:
Eyebrows are raised when Blac Chyna posts a (now deleted) black and white shot of herself with a heavily tattooed arm wrapped around her on Instagram. The caption? “The beginning.”
After Rob is revealed as being the guy in the shot, Khloe cryptically tweets: ‘You can do anything but never go against family.” At first she claims that it had nothing to do with Rob, but then tweeted: “But hey, maybe my quote can go towards a few people today.”
Rob and Chyna ignore the family shade and move in together—while Khloe is feeling betrayed that Rob didn’t giver her a head’s up that he was moving out or mention who he was moving in with.
Are they or are they not engaged? Blac Chyna goes to town, posting a ton of pictures on Instagram with a giant and sparkly ring on that finger—but Rob and Chyna deny that they are engaged.
It’s clear though that things are going well as Rob, whose been reclusive and gained a lot of weight in recent years, has been spotted working out and taking better care of himself.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Rob gifts his love a portrait of herself—with lyrics from the John Legend song “The Beginning”—that set him—or his mom—back $35,000.But, there’s trouble in paradise when Rob moves into a separate house in Calabasas and deletes photos of him and Chyna on Instagram. Rob reveals in an Instagram caption: “Chy and I are not broken up we just feel like it would be a lot healthier for our relationship if we kept a lot more to ourselves. It’s impossible to have a positive relationship with so much negativity from the media and outsiders and we would appreciate if it everyone respects that.”
Things seem to be on the up and up for Rob and Chyna as he joins her for a club appearance at Montego Bay in Jamaica. They look happy and affectionate. It looks as if Rob’s family is finally starting to come around. Mom Kris is first to lead the way but the most impressive is Kylie being able to put aside that her brother is dating her own boyfriend’s ex.
Rob buys Chyna the ultimate symbol of commitment—a purple Lamborghini.
This is not a drill, this is not a tease—the couple officially announces that yes, they are indeed engaged.
Chyna’s rep confirms that she will indeed take Rob’s last name when they get married. Her official name will be Angela Kardashian.
In true Kardashian fashion, Rob and Chyna announce that they too are getting their very own E! series, Rob and Chyna.
There’s trouble brewing again as the pressures of filming their relationship on camera starts to get to Rob and Chyna. Rob wipes his Instagram clean of any traces of Chyna and unfollows her.The drama continues to unfold on an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, on which Rob and Chyna are now appearing.
Rob reveals on Facebook that he spent $13,000 in one month on take out for his pregnant fiancé.
The very first trailer of Rob & Chyna is released and it’s safe to say that Chyna screaming, “Are you still texting bitches?” means things are not so great.
Rob and Chyna finally premieres and the world is given a peek inside their tumultuous relationship. The drama does not disappoint as Rob accuses Chyna of cheating on him with her ex, none other Tyga.
Some happy news is also shared—Rob and Chyna reveal on Instagram that they’re expecting a GIRL!
Crazy and confusing drama also goes down as Rob explodes on Twitter out of nowhere, lashing out at Kylie and sending out her phone number to the world. The reason? A huge miscommunication in which Rob thought that his sisters were excluding Chyna from a baby shower for their baby. Apparently it was a surprise “guy shower” for Rob (that was going to be filmed for KUWTK), so that’s why Kylie was upset when Rob said he didn’t want to go or be filmed and, well, the whole thing spun out of control from there.
Even though Chyna admits, “I know with my vagina that this is his [Rob’s] baby” during the season finale of Rob & Chyna, we get actual confirmation via a paternity test that Rob is indeed the father.
A picture of singer Pilot Jones kissing Chyna surfaces online and rumors start swirling that she’s been cheating on Rob. Rob threatens Jones over text, allegedly wanting to harm him, and the LAPD confirms Rob is under criminal investigation. Chyna takes to Instagram with a long rant to address the rumors.
With their daughter due any day now, it’s not a shock that Rob and Chyna announce they’ll be filming their daughter’s birth for a special, which will document Chyna's baby shower, her preparation for the birth and the birth itself. And bonus? Rob & Chyna got a greenlight for a second season. More drama to come.
