Many Instagram travel photographers will go to lengths to get shots that will rack up the hearts: For instance, they might take dozens of nearly identical selfies until they get the perfect shot — public humiliation aside — or they might even schlep around the world with a boatload of photo gear. But few go to such great lengths — or more specifically, heights — as Angela Nikolau.
She's a Moscow-based photographer who's on-board with the so-called "rooftopping" trend; if it's not self evident, rooftoppers are fearless and usually fame-seeking photographers who summit roofs (often illegally) to get crazy dramatic shots. And Nikolau's photos demonstrate daredevil feats around the world. Exhibit A: this video of her doing gymnastics on a Hong Kong rooftop:
Or this shot of her perched perilously close to the edge:
This selfie stick deserves a medal for valor.
Oh you know, just casually tanning at death-defying heights...
This one is giving us vicarious vertigo.
The air quality is hardly the most urgent of the concerns in this shot.
Just hanging out in Moscow.
[Chewing fingernails into bits.]
We'll take a pass on trying this at home... but we're glad we get to admire the feats from afar!
