Sweet Groom Writes a Second Set Of Wedding Vows For His New 5-Year-Old Stepdaughter

The whole crowd was in tears.

Newly married Mike Seldon is taking his marriage vows seriously—he even wrote a few things for his now stepdaughter and included her in the ceremony.

The sweet groom, who married in Laguna Beach, CA., wrote one set of vows for his bride Brittany Williams, and a second set for her 5-year-old daughter Heidi, reportsThe Huffington Post

“I vow to always be fair and honest with you,” Mike said to Heidi. “I promise to support you in every way I can. I promise to always hold your hand and brush your hair when you ask me to. I promise to tuck you into bed every night. I vow to show you how a man should treat a woman through my relationship with your mom. And above all else, I vow to protect you, care for you, and love you 'so big' forever.”

He even got down on one knee to talk to his little girl, which left all the guests in tears. Mike has been in Heidi's life since she was 14 months old and is even friends with her biological father.

“Mike was taking a more fatherly role by doing things like tucking her in and kissing her as he leaves for work,” Brittany said. “Though we have had our share of bumps in the road―there's no instruction manual for this stuff!―it's been a beautiful journey. It meant so much to me because he was not just marrying me, he was promising her the same things and it symbolized us all becoming one as a family.”
