Alex McCord: FEED Bag Trendsetter?
The Real Housewife of NYC was so ahead of the FEED bag phenomenon.
Jul 16, 2010So, I'm riding the bus uptown yesterday (it's WAY too hot for subways!), and I see a woman rocking a beaded FEED bag purse, and my mind immediately goes to this:
Another woman on the bus asked where to purchase the purse, to which the first woman responded that they're everywhere! Could it be? Is there a FEED bag phenomenon going on? Then, I remembered that even Rachel Zoe is in on it! In Monday's edition of The Zoe Report, Rachel touted this tote: http://www.rachelzoe.com/feed-bag. Not only is it functional and fashionable, but it's for a good cause!
So, all I'm saying is that Alex McCord is a trendsetter in my eyes, and although this jury is still out on whether or not the look was appropriate for the opera, it might just be time for her to whip that dress out again!
Editor's Note: Thank you all for reminding me that Simon actually won the corset for Alex at an auction. Kudos, Simon! Unfortunately, we don't have a pic of him wearing it!

In case no one remembers, it was Alex being the trend setter, it was Simon...This outing was a surprise for Alex and the top made from a feed sack was a gift to her..she had noting to do with it's selection..
Hello Alex, You look good in any and everything you wear. I've always admired your style. My husband says you look like Nichole Kidman--I agree. I'm delighted to see the New Foxy/Fiesty Alex, and Congrats to Simon for quiting smoking--Please tell me how he did it--I'm trying but I keep falling backwards--IT IS SOO DIFFICULT. I'm a Big Fan of Your Family!!!!
Functional & for a good cause? Ok. Sure. Fashionable? I don't think so. Trendy is more like it. Crocs were popular too but they were NEVER fashionable. Just one gals opinion... Btw- that's not to say that Alex didn't look great in it. Big Alex fan here...
I don't recall Alex saying that she picked it out. Just think she's having a little bit of fun by taking credit for being among the first to wear it. That's all.
The bag works. The corset, on the other hand, just makes me think of breast feeding due to the location of the message. And very few people, including Ms. McCord, are able to wear that neutral burlap color well.
Are you kidding I thought she looks great in it,and I remember when Simon got it for her I thought what a great idea to help people who need it.I would love to buy one of the purses,just tell me where and I know afew people who would buy one to.I think you should wear it Alex!!!!!!!!!
I think Alex can pull off anything. Love her style!!!!!
Sorry, but it's reality time. The Feed Bag is a feed bag, not a beautiful piece of clothing. LMAO at the Lemings. And the emperor has no clothes once again.
that's a real way to open eyes! Alex your in the spot light now....great trend and great motive. With a body like yours wear whatever you want! GO GREEN!
