Bethenny Makes $50K Red Cross Donation

After Hurricane Sandy swept through the Northeast -- crippling the Jersey Shore and knocking out power in New York City for days in her aftermath – Bethenny Frankel has stepped forward to get her community back on its feet.

"Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast so hard; it is my hometown and has given me so much. That’s why I wanted to help The American Red Cross with a donation to rebuild and restore the area and help my neighbors who have suffered damages and loss from this terrible tragedy," the Bethenny Ever After star says on her site.

Additionally, Bethenny’s money maker came out swinging for their hometown team. "Skinnygirl Cocktails also stepped up and has matched my donation and Skinnygirl Daily donated 5,000 on-the-go bars to hand out to families who need help and extra food," she adds.

Every donation makes an impact and you can help those affected by Hurricane Sandy by texting "REDCROSS" to 90999 to make a $10 donation or go to redcross.org. "If you can’t contribute a monetary donation, the Red Cross is in desperate need of blood donors for those affected by Hurricane Sandy," B writes. "You can also volunteer or fundraise for the cause."
