Beverly Kim had a wild ride on Top Chef: Texas -- surviving not one, but two cooking competitions (thanks to Last Chance Kitchen) as well as the barbs of her fellow cheftestants and her own penchant for mid-kitchen flailing -- before she was asked to pack her knives and go. But while the eccentric chef didn't make it to next week's finale, she earned the respect of her colleagues -- and says she has no regrets moving forward.
(Where are your favorite chefs from past seasons? Catch up with them in our "Where Are They Now?" photo gallery.)
Beverly told The Insider, "I'm really proud of the fact that I never gave up, and I think a lot of it was psychological, the second guessing nature of the show. I had to get to a point where I had faith in myself. That's really important as a chef to do; the first person you need to convince is yourself. Top Chef really taught me how to bring in that inner confidence."
She loved the opportunity she was given in Last Chance Kitchen, too: "You have to be open to whatever they give you... A lot of people are ready to go once they have been eliminated," she said. "The fact that it was a total surprise shows a lot about the fact that I never give up or complain, I just put my head down and I do it."
So what's next for Bev? "Really awesome opportunities are coming my way right now. Collaborating with other chefs is one of my goals right now. It's a beautiful thing to share your point of view with theirs. In the longer road, I do want to have my own place, so look out for that!"
Want to show Bev a little love? There's still time to rally for her -- or any of this season's cheftestants -- in the race for Fan Favorite.
Beverly You've obviously proven you're a great chef. More than that, you've proven to have a lot more character than some of your competitors. I wish you all the best for a happy and successful future.
So sad that you are no longer a contestant - you were by far the most talented! Many of your competitors lack sportsmanship. All the best to you.

You were so bullied by that woman who is on now from Spiaggia . I heard Jimmy Fallon telling Padma on his show that he didn't like her because of that. Using typical bullying tactics, she brought others along with her to bully you. You are one tough cookie. Loved you. You are really The Top Chef.
You were a fantastic competitor Bev. I wish you made it to the Finale with Paul. Keep up the good work. As a fellow Chicagoan, I hope to see you at Aria some day!
Way to go Bev . . . I was pulling for you all the way! The catty remarks were just jealousy talking, you found your own voice and listened to it no matter what happened. Strength is as strength does and you proved yourself a worthy opponent many times over.
Honestly? I've never been so happy to see anyone sent packing. You call it "pride", I call it "obnoxious". Winners don't have to sabotage and cheat their way to the top.
Bev, I hope you're reading these comments, and I hope you know that you were a fan favorite. You have a wonderful attitude that shines through, even in your moments of stress and challenge. Sarah is an insecure bully and, frankly, I don't care if she's a wonderful chef. As far as I'm concerned, everything she makes is toxic, infused with her own poisonous spirit.
I was angered by the bullying, and disappointed that the mean girls weren't put in their place. I found their attitude towards Beverly disgusting, and I was happy that she proved her worth. She's above and beyond the haters in talent and class. Paul--waiting for you to win it all!!
beverly you were the best of the best on the show wish you were one of the last ones standing just so you know you are a favorite
BEV---- YOU WERE THE MOST INSPIRING PERSON ON THIS SEASONS TOP CHEF!!! YOU OVERCAME THE CONSTANT BADGERING OF FELLOW COMPETITORS AND EVEN THOUGH YOU DID NOT GET TO ADVANCE TO THE FINAL ROUNDS YOU DEFINITELY SHOWED YOUR BULLIERS THAT A SOUND MIND & HUMBLE HEART IS A FIERCE WEAPON AND YOU SHOW THEM YOUR TALENTS... I COMEND YOU FOR BEING AN INSPIRATION TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN BULLIED & THAT WE DONT NEED TO USE WORDS FOR HURT. AND FOR SARAH AND HER FRIEND -- IF YOU WERE MY CHILDREN I WOULD BE ASHAMED OF THE CONDUCT DISPLAYED ON NATIONAL TELEVISION!!!
Beverly you were so awesome! I love how strong you were against your fellow chefs members! Watching you reminds me of myself sometimes. Cause I know what's it's like to have people bully me and seeing you inspire me to stay strong, confident, and strive for success. As for the person who said that Bev was sabotaging. No, she wasn't. If you were watching, she had a challenge to prepare TWO dishes, which one was not her own. She did what she was told and cook it they way Lindsay told her too. If you notice before, Bev said she wasn't use to cooking it that way and knew another way to cook it but Bev didn't do it her way cause she wanted to be respectful and cook it the way Lindsay told her too. So honestly, it's Lindsay fault. She could have simply ask Sarah or Grayson to fix her dish.
All the best to you Beverly, I was rooting for you from the start. You are truly a classy and talented lady. The other girls in the show aren't even half as classy, professional and talented as you are. You go Beverly.
Bev, you are awesome! You acted like such a lady through all the cattiness. Those other girls who put you down or threw you under the bus (Heather, Lindsey, Sarah) really made an a** of themselves. You truly acted like the better person by turning your cheek. But besides all that...you are a more talented chef, and that was obvious. Even though you didn't win the season...you were the real winner in my book (and my husband's). You go girl!
