Meet the self-proclaimed "black Brady bunch" starring in our new docu-series.

on Oct 1, 2013 - The Dish0

Bravo's new series Thicker Than Water follows the self-proclaimed "black Brady Brunch" as they live wealthy lives in their palatial home outside Nashville. The show premieres Sunday, Nov. 10, but we have a first look now. Watch the clip below.

The series anchors around family patriarch Ben Tankard, whose wealth comes from his role as Godfather of the Gospel Jazz music genre. As he explains about his life, "I've been poor, now I'm rich…rich is better."

He means it. The blended family live it up in a three-story mansion stacked with seven vehicles and their own personal airplanes. But it's not all about the glamorous life. The family also grapples with their religious beliefs—and their own personal turmoil. Daughter Brooklyn reveals she's been in trouble with the law. While Britney opens up about how she struggles to balance a 9-5 work ethic with the family's wealth.

Watch the preview above and tell us: are you excited to meet the Tankards?

I like all of the people on the show, but Jewel Tankard is so full of it. I don't think she knows that much about the bible, and I think she serves money more than God. She even said it out of her own mouth that if she had to take a vow of poverty, she wouldn't have gotten saved. How horriable is that. On the mini series "The Bible" Jesus says, you can not serve the Lord if you serve money, and she serves money more than the Lord. Basically, in the bible it says that you are not close to the lord if you are close to money, I will find the exact scripture and put it on here. She also thinks that the average household income for the average American is like $100,000, that shows me that she is extremely out of touch with the world. I would love to put her in her place. she is so obsessed with money and making sure she has millions in the bank, that she makes herself look stupid on that show. Good for her that she lives well, but personally, I think that she definitely serves money more than the Lord, and she makes me sick, and i would pay what money i have to put her in her place.

I am happy for their hard work and wealth, however what they fail to mention is that, true success is not from how much you have in the bank, or what WE have done. It is living everyday accepting what HE(The Lord) has done for us. We are successful because we have HIM. Even if we have nothing. Not because we have a big house and 12 cars and so on. God is greater than all those material and worldly things. Things are nice to have, but when we start glorifying stuff and bragging about it, and not showing any humility; that's where the problem lies. We have to be humble. So we can truly help somebody who may be where we used to be. That's what I want to see outta this show, if I decide to watch it.

ALL the REAL people of God are Blessed and Rich, they just do not know it yet. Just my two cents, but they seem like a nice family. And I can tell there will be a lot of drama on this show. But that's what reality t.v and entertainment is all about right?

I feel this guy like most minsters is a BIG fraud! True Christians should be "Humble" .which Ben Tankard is not..

I think this show will be positive influence to all people, that a truly Christians family  can live a fabulous life as Christian in a sinfull world we live in daily. When people of the world take hold of this show and realize that you still can live a god fearing life and still be successful with money and fame, that's living; the best of both world [blessing & favor] that god has for his people. I am proud that bravo is airing a more positive reality show that all families can relate to and aspire the world to be their best as Christian and have all the blessing god promise to them while on earth thanks to bravo and the Tankard family for being bold and steadfast for airing a positive message to the world can't wait for the show... blessing.

I'm really excited about this show. It is great to know that there is positive, God fearing people who embraces success the way that they do. I've heard so much about this family, and I can't wait to see how God has blessed them and the blessings that they are providing for others. Thank you Bravo for putting this family on your network, this not only sets the bar to true reality television, but it provides an outlet for others to follow.

I love that Bravo is putting this show out there.  From the previews, it looks like it will do exactly for the religious community what it needs to do.  It looks like it will clearly show Christians why this type of religion is not Christianity and will keep serious Christians from falling into the legalistic prosperity trap.  There is no Biblical basis for the type of religion these kinds of people propagate and it looks like Bravo is going to do a good job getting that message out there.  Are these kinds of people religious, sure, but in the way B'hai and Krishnas and Socialists are religious.  They aren't anything like Christians and I applaud Bravo for pointing it out!
