In the diet-and-fitness world, we’re fairly certain that Bethenny’s BMI (Body Mass Index) is off-the-charts healthy – she is, after all, the quintessential Skinnygirl. In the tying-the-knot game, however, she’s been a bit less successful, with three previous engagements that didn't quite work out. Watch these two sneak-peek clips with us as we subjectively evaluate the positive (exclamation points!!!) and not-so-positive (question marks???) aspects of Jason and Bethenny’s relationship to calculate a preliminary Bethenny Getting Married? Index. (Yes, we are repurposing nymag.com's brilliantly conceived Gossip Girl Reality Index.) Tally your own BGMI during the full series premiere tonight at 10/9c.
Dinner at Megu With Jason
After ordering a sirloin steak, two spicy king-crab rolls, a sautéed mushroom medley, and a salad, Bethenny asks to keep the menu in case she wants something else to nosh on later. If this is any indication of how ridiculously gluttonous the reception meal will be, Plus 1! (A stuffed wedding guest is a happy wedding guest.)
• OMG: Is Jason manorexic? His aghast expression at the Skinnygirl’s decidedly unskinny order (mouth open, eyes blinking in disbelief) is way judge-y. Minus 3: couldn’t he just have grinned and bared his pregnant fiancée’s excess???
• Bethenny is six months pregnant. She wants to plan the wedding within an improbably short four weeks. This is, how do you say, improbable to the degree of Minus 4???? Oh wait, that's for a non-Bravolebrity who doesn't have an entire production team behind them: Plus 4!!!!
The couple can’t seem to agree on a reasonable size for the wedding: Bethenny wants 50 guests, split evenly, while Jason still doesn’t look pleased when she ups it to 80 guests. Minus 2, because: will either of them budge??
Total: Minus 2. This chapter can be titled: Bethenny Getting Married??
The title is pretty inaccurate since everyone knows she DID get married, for a second time, and has since given birth to her daughter. A better title for the show would have been "Bethenny is getting married!" Doubt I'll watch it since I'm not a huge Bethenny fan.
I am super happy for Bethenny..I really feel like she is the only good one in addition to Alex who say their mind and act real..they are not fake (relatively..but i really like her and her husband now..truely happy for her..
Bethany - Loved watching you on the View this AM - and that you put a certain someoneS in their place - you're toooo funnny - much success to you and yours Congrats! So, are you keeping your name or are you doing the hypen...Frankel.
I love Bethany alex and ramona i think kelly is jealous and wants what bethany has worked hard for and i think jill looks really pretty this year and i hope she gets back to forgetting that she doesnt always have to look in the mirror and the one with the song is just searching for something and i hope she finds it
I actually like this show because Bethenny stays true to herself. How do you become offended by things that she does or says when viewers do the same thing, they just don't admit it. Bethenny, I say do you. And you do it very well......STAY TRUE
You are so Funny! I'm loving this show! You have always been the most talented, interesting and honest housewife on your old show. I am so thrilled that I get to see more Bethenny and less of the high school bullies that grew up to be "the housewives of New York City." Wish you the very best.
10 minutes into the show and I am belly laughing already! Bethenny you are absolutely hysterical and one hell of a business woman. Welcome to motherhood you deserve all the best. Loving your new show!
Love you and J. Too cute.
I really don't understand the purpose of critiquing the title of the show when you are NOT a fan.
GOOD LUCK!!! BETHENNY, YOUR SHOW WILL BE THE BEST BRAVO SHOW EVER! Georgianne, from Atlanta, Georgia
Bethany, I WILL NOT be watching your new show. I do not like who you have become. I watched the reunion show and how you were on your high horse - pointing out what all Jill has done, but you did not look at yourself. You were just as bad as her on different things. She was very humble, apologized and tried with you to get that special friendship back. Ramona, Alex and you are trying to take over the show and you are no different than the other ladies you are talking about. I am so glad that I do not have friends like you - it is very apparent that if you were to busy to keep in contact with Jill during the off season - while her husband was having cancer surgery - a time that she REALLY NEEDED HER FRIENDS. Where were you? Couldn't even call? WOW - but you sent flowers! And you really want credit for this one? I really never heard you talk much about this on the show or really even apologize on the show? You like the little sayings that you have - I have one for you "GET over Yourself" My team is start watching something else on television. I will try to continue to see what Jill is up to.......
Several firsts: I have never sent an email to a televion show and I have never laughed this hard over something on cable. I love Bethany and I love the show.
Sachels of gold . . . er . . . tears of laughter Chris
Bethenny........love you:) You are the only sane one on the show. Geesh hope they get rid of Kelly because she is either really sick in the head or on drugs. Anyway, ? about Jason. I notice that when he is trying to tell you how he feels about a decision to be made (i.e. party, or wedding you talk so much and so fast that he doesn't have a chance to finish a sentance. You really need to let him talk and not cut him off or be so forcefull with your ideas. You think you are compromising but he is getting run over before you agree to let him have what he wants. Please be more sensitive to what he wants because that makes for a much better relationship.
I was a big fan of Bethany. But having watched her own show I think it might be too much. I like the short witty snippets of her in NY Housewives. But I think a whole show of watching her argue with her husband and talk about her self makes me like her less. I don't want to know her this well.
Bethenny...what a breath of fresh air! Your first episode was so pleasurable. I am so over the CRAZY drama of the New York City Housewives. I feel such a clean, fresh energy from your new Bravo show! I love your marriage band, your new straight assistant, over-protective Cookie and of course clear, balanced, handsome Jason! Bravo to Bravo!
I absolutely have loved Bethenny from the first time I saw her. She is perfect. She looks out for herself. She is well spoken and tells it like it is. She is personable.I think Jason is a jewel and good for her. I was so excited when I found out she was getting her own show. Just wish Alex was going with her. I like her too.
Bethenny is the beauty of this show. Honey, you take the money, do the pregnancy test and the talk with Jill wherever she wants. As I said in another blog " Luanne and her "countess" stuff is the most passive aggressive person on the show, she should get rid of the title. In America we think it is pretentious and ridiculous. Money doesn't buy you a title here. Carol from Greenwich Village
Beth I loved your show but just show us a little and get off. Every marriage that has had their marriage on cameras divorced. Remember Carmen Elektra, Jessica Simpson, Kate plus eight, etc. We want you to succeed so tune us out soon. We love you.
Bethaney,One critique if I may.Tone it down when talking to Jason, your voice is not the most melodic and after awhile you will drive him crazy.Remember you are disagreeing with the man you love, not fighting for a dress at a Bergdoff sale. You got the guy,the job the baby...yet your still acting and sounding like your selling fish and fighting for the best stall space on the docks
bethenny and jason,
love this show!
some of the antics remind me of the lucy show your so real i love love love it, i wish you and jason and sweet baby girl all the best.
I've always loved bethenny. she is blunt and to the point. and you can't hate on being real! work bethenny!! love your new show and love love love you boo!! congrats on your hot husband and cute baby!!
what was the name of the bar with the secret phone booth thingy???
Bravo Editor: It's called Please Don't Tell, and it's located on 113 Saint Marks Place in the East Village, inside of the more publicly accessible Crif Dogs. Good luck getting in -- you go through a telephone booth of sorts on the left and see if the bouncer lady likes you, pretty much!
Bethenny Rocks! I wish I had her balls...and the way she delivers her messages. Amazing how she can express herself so clearly & to the point. Go B love ya!
Bethenny is Beautiful and strong and becoming successful. But be careful, I realize its Bethennys' show, but its just a matter of time before Jason gets fed up. In the beginning of the show, the screen says.."Bethenny's condo"...I thought it was Bethennys' and Jasons' condo.Twenty minutes later, Jason makes a comment.."This is My Place too"...Jason needs his own space he can call his, Not his stuff in crates underneath the Bed. Bethenny.. let Jason breath... Don't smother him..mark my words. This is just the tip of the Iceberg.
OMG!!! Your show is better than all the housewife shows put together! Loved it and Jason is so funny and sweet, I can see why you giys are so good together!
bethenny please think about forgiving jill..i know you have a blessing in your life but really if you think abt it she had cheerleaders tht did not want you and her to be friends and it worked.jill is bossy but hey who dnt have a friend like tht..i lost two wht i thought were friends for life due to outsiders i tried ti meng it but it is wht it is. jill seens to hve really took a look at her self dnt shut her out just try one more time please the truth will come out and if it dnt work thn let it go..just think about it.. :)
Bet I caught half your show as I was all worked up over the reunion! I love that you will always be YOU. I think with your beloved with you on the show I will have to put my mind in a different rhythm because the dynamics and give and take are so different! And PS? You should hire the gay man that comes in wearing Jills GREEN pumps! Love ya girl! Make us look good you look amazing!
B. You are a breath of fresh air! Your show is exactly what Bravo needed to get away from all the drama. Don't get me wrong we all NEED DRAMA but maybe just in other parts of life! I hope you include some of the ladies from NY Housewives like Alex, Ramona and Sonja! You three seem to click and we love the dynamics between all of you. Love your dog//he/she is an excellent judge of character and what a cutie! Enjoy every moment of your life and thank you for bringing your home into mine! Love you and Jason...From Jewel and Family!
I am no longer a fan of yours. You and Jill were a great team. You were both wrong and you need to apologize and forgive not forget but cautiously approach a friendship. if you can now hang out with Ramona and Alex, people who you used to call losers and treat badly-YOU not Jill-YOU started a lot of this then you should be big enough to truly forgive someone who was supposed to be a real friend. Were you not the one who appeared on last years show and said you did not like any of these women nor would you willingly hang out with them? I used to respect you but FAME has gotten you! You obviously write your topics to try and be funny and you are not actually that witty-I remember the Martha Stewart show you were bitchy but not funny-and you re-use lines constantly-Hello give Beyoncee her song back and "put a ring on your own quote" I will not be watching your show because that hour feels and eternity listening to you whine and behave like a prima donna. Ramona may have been mean unless you are paying him-no man no matter how much in love is going to listen to you groan and bark like that 24/7-not if he has dignity that is not love but masochism! You are into FAME every bit as much as you claim Jill is you used to be a fun, independent single girl now your answer to Jill about being friends again is that Jason does not like Jill- do you think after how you acted Bobby likes you? Really! Act like you have a spine and if you do not want to ever be friend’s again-woman up and say it. Do you know the definition of a HYPOCRITE- it is Bethenny! I will not watch or support your new show-because I do not care and find you fake, revealed, overexposed and judgmental. My dad grew up unloved and abandoned by his mom just like you but here is the difference he is a good person and doesn't use his tongue like a mean sword! Please go back to being independent and bright not this simpy character you are right now. After all you said it is you-the real you! So were you just fake before or now? Disappointed in you- a former fan!
Watching your program I felt it was Jill who started and treated you badly. She if she were a real friend should have sensed as well as looking at you how difficult a time you were going thru. And stepped up to the plate to comfort you at that difficult time; and make amends for whatever she had done and you would have done the same. I feel she is an instigator of different situations. Also replace Kelly or get rid of her; She needs help. Wish you well in your new marriage he adores you; dont't push too much; and also with your new baby. Think of all the things you feel your mom and dad did wrong and step up to be the better parent which I am sure you will and already have. Lots of love for 3 of you always.
By the way I am a diabetic how are you cook books for diabetics?
Loved the show! So adorable! And, lordy, did we need a happy spark after this season of housewives - holy cow!
Best of luck to you, Bethenny! Look forward to watching the rest of your season.
I am glad you forgave Jill.....its okay to not have a place for her in your life. Forgiveness is a choice you make in order to move on in your life. It is for your benefit, not for theirs. Much peace and happiness to all the housewives.
Love you Bethenny but i think its time that you start being a mother,i remember you saying you had a garbage upbringing please dont let all your parenting and help go to nannies and nurses your baby needs bonding with you for the very first months of her life stay out of the limelight or all the other garbage out there make your husband and baby your main prorities i dont think you wiil survive this marriage your probablyit just seems like your on every magazine saying look at my body i just had a baby, the episode last njght showed you eating sushi did you ob every tell you thats a no no along with certain fish .You may not think i am wishing the best for you but i really do. I hope that you will read this and not take it the wrong way .GoD Bless
Great fun! Held your own on the view too. I agree with some of the comments about Jason however I would have wanted to kill him for missing the housewarming party it was his idea look at a weather report and leave early.
LITERALLY LAUGHED OUT LOUD MORE DURING YOUR SHOW THAN ANY OTHER EVER! Cosby's...no comparison!....Kimmel....no contest. Seriously best show on tv....and I watch way too much tv, so I know. Reality tv can't get any better. The smart, sweet, light-hearted vibe you and the people you surround yourself with is amazing. Maybe I relate to you on some level b/c of the dad thing, either way, it's too good to be reality. Be proud of all you've accomplished, and keep following your dreams. You deserve it all! p.s. J. needs time to grow up. sad but true.
Good luck on your new show. Some friends are too good to let go. Try to forgive things said in anger or hurt. If they continue to be on your mind, let them know (-: from miss w
/Bethenny: BRAVO!! I'm a loyal fan, 71 yrs.of age and visiting my son. We watched your show together, I have not enjoyed a show this much in a long time, we loved you. BRAVO to you.
I watched a little of WWHL with your 3rd appearance. You can't get enough of yourself, I know. Surprisingly, you had a drink and claimed that although you didn't ask a doctor if it was okay (while breastfeeding), "someone" told you it was fine. First off - didn't you want sound advice? Second - isn't Bryn on a low silicone, alcohol free diet? If you don't care to ask professionals, then I don't either. Cheers!
Bethany, Great show. Just remember to not overtalk above your Jason because he's really quiet when he's discussing things with you. Otherwise, I am so proud of you.
B - I love your new show and it is so enjoyable to see people liking to be with each other.
I married the love of my life when I was in my 40s - and no one tells you this, even tho they acknowledge it after you've walked down the aisle - the first year is the most difficult in the world. I must have packed my bags 5 times in the first year of marriage.
But we remain together and in love 10 years later. You will too. You and Jason are building something together each day of your married life. It has to have room in it for you, for him, for Bryn, and for everyone else you two will love through the years. It is hard, but oh-so-very-much worth it.
We know you admire Jason's "normalcy" - just remember that the small town people who go to church every Sunday from whom Jason springs are also prone to narrow-mindedness. As a woman from an unconventional background with a healthy dose of independance and sophistication, don't expect to always be on the same page with your new husband. He will never totally "get" you, how could he?
