Is Google Afraid of Kim Zolciak?

Kim's "Google Me" is a go; Google's "Google Me," not so much.

Did Kim Zolciak's latest dancefloor tour de force, "Google Me," derail the online giant's plans to dive into social media?

Well, Mashable reports that Google has pushed back the roll-out of a major new social networking initiative until next year. And that project's name? According to Mashable, it's rumored to be "Google Me" -- yes, the very same name as The Real Housewives of Atlanta star's latest single. Mashable reports that the project was expected to launch before the end of the year, but that it will now be... wait for it... tardy for the party.

Google's project was once described as a full social networking site and potential Facebook killer, but recently it's been suggested that "Google Me" will see social elements folded into existing Google products.

Mashable pins the delay on disagreements over design and execution, and all that sounds completely plausable, but we like to think it has more to do with the notion of living in Kim's shadow (that's ok, Google -- she can outshine the best of them).

It could be months before you get to test the new social playground of "Google Me," but you don't have to wait for Kim's version.
