Is Kenya Moore Close to Having a Baby?

The RHOA star gives an update on her plans.

By Kevin O'Donnell

It's no secret that Kenya Moore is eager to start her own family—whether it's with a husband or not. And she's been taking great strides to make her baby dreams a reality.

Earlier this year, she revealed she had undergone fibroid surgery—and it was a success.

Now, Kenya reveals she's nearly one-hundred percent and the baby-making plans can proceed. "I have one more week to heal," she tells OK! Magazine (on-sale now). "And then I can start trying."

Kenya had previously said she was looking into finding a sperm donor or undergoing IVF. But since she's started seeing her mysterious African boyfriend (she has declined to identify him), she may give natural conception a try, she reveals. "I like to have a backup plan to the backup plan," she says.

The model and fitness guru is hoping to give her baby the childhood she missed out on. Kenya has no relationship with her biological mother—she was raised by her Aunt Lori—and she wants her child to have a strong bond with mom.

"I want to give my baby the childhood I never had," she has said. "I want to be there for my children, and I want them to know they aren't invisible."
