James Lipton has been the one calling the shots while on stage with pretty much every A-list actor in the business over the past 18 years of Inside the Actors Studio. And because his milestone 250th episode is quickly approaching, James wants to shuffle the deck a little bit and allow his fans to be the ones running the show and determining the direction of the episode.
In his blog, James writes: "When my Bravo colleagues and I gathered around a table to ask ourselves, 'How do we celebrate the 250th?' we realized the answer was staring us in the face: 'Let's let those good people who have shared this amazing journey with us take over and pick the best moments, episodes, and guests of the past eighteen years, and we'll reprise them on the 250th, with full on-air credit to the viewer whose proposal we've selected.' ... And the social networks of cyberspace, another idea whose time has come since we began the series, enable us to reach out to. . .you out there, wherever you are and whatever you think. So we invite you to share your all-time favorite moment, guest or episode, and the reason for your choice, by commenting here at Bravotv.com, on Bravo’s Facebook page, or on Twitter using the hashtag #IAS250. If we choose your response, it will be read on the show, as the introduction of the moment, guest or episode you’ve proposed, signed and certified by you."
So, there you have it: YOU can cast the 250th episode of Inside the Actors Studio, or submit your favorite moments, quotes -- anything. Just leave your choices and repsonses in the comment section below, and we'll make sure James sees them all. What are you waiting for ... comment!
Would you consider interviewing Patrick Wilson on the show? He is a critically-acclaimed stage, tv and film actor and has an impressive body of work.
For any upcoming episode....because he may not be around much longer, and only Mr. Lipton will extract much "Ground truth", Elmore Leonard.....
As one of the best of the new generation, Leonardo DiCaprio!
Don't know if the 250th episode has been done yet, but Daniel Day Lewis is the one!
please interview steve martin.
Please get Joan Fontaine to do the show!!
Patty Duke the Oscar and Emmy Winning star of film, television and broadway would make a wonderful guest. Patty is very underrated and just marked the 50th anniversary of her Oscar win. There are several additional great actors who could be on future episodes: Marcia Gay Harden, Mary Louise Parker, Julie Christie, Frances McDormad, Adrien Brody, Michael Douglas, Rachel Weisz, Daniel Craig, Sigourney Weaver, Leonardo DiCaprio.
I have been interested in actors, films, and filmmaking since I was young and it was great to find a show that didn't ask actors/filmmakers moronic questions or spend the entire interview prying into their personal lives. This show has provided me with great insight into the filmmaking world and it's great to see such in-depth interviews with all of these different people. The first episode I saw was Angelina Jolie's and I was so excited that there was a show out there that delved deep into the actors process and allowed the actor to be so open and honest with their experiences. One of my favorite moments from the show was when Bradley Cooper was on and he was so happy to back at the studio. It was great to see someone be so passionate about acting as well as see his deep admiration for you and the school. The fact that he couldn't stop crying made it all the more heartfelt.
Now I'm going to make a few suggestions for future guests :)
I definitely think you should have Meryl Streep on again. It's been 15 years since she's been on and it's about time she be on it again! lol. Same with Julia Roberts, Johnny Depp and Ben Affleck. Winona Ryder would be fantastic. I would love to see Claire Danes, the cast of Grey's Anatomy, Christina Ricci, Joaquin Phoenix and Michael Moore.
Only Peter O'Toole can give a 250th episode the grandeur it deserves. The gift to create and breathe life in to a character like he can makes him an excellent guest for Inside the Actors Studio. There truly is no other possibility thinkable that can look back on such a rich history on screen aswell on stage. His story, career and quality is more than worthy of a milestone episode appearance.
He also has over 3000 FB fans, so you'll get tons of folks tuning in...just sayin'
Correction: Robert Morse is one of only three actors in Broadway history to win a Tony for both Lead actor in a Musical (Musical Comedy) and Lead Actor in a Play (Drama) nearly 30 years later.
Forgive me for not following your directions, but I would love for you to honor a beloved, actor of stage and screen, and a contemporary of yours, who (in my humble opinion) has been egregiously overlooked: the multi-talented Robert Morse. In addition to being one of our greatest American stage actors (one of only three actors in Broadway history to win a Tony for both Lead actor in a Comedy and Lead Actor in a Drama nearly 30 years later), he's had a long and varied career in film and television, and he's a wonderful raconteur. Remarkably, he's humble to a fault, maintaining that he's just "a guy from Newton, Massachusetts who was fortunate to be fortunate." To quote a favorite line from one of my favorite Arthur Miller plays, "Attention must finally be paid to such a person."
pamoouru I second your suggestion.
Robert Morse would be a great guest for Inside The Actors Studio!
I would love to to see Robert Redford. I think his amazing career is so expansive. I would love to hear about him co-starring with Natilie Wood and Paul Newman. How did he feel about playing a homosexual when it was taboo. And his amazing directing, producing, and he is doing now?
I would say hands down the most elegant, talented actor to be celebrated is Meryl Streep. There are obviously are so many more actors that are so special for me but #1 I feel Meryl has really played so many , many outstanding roles. So many movies I would watch over and over.
