This is pure entertainement. I love this show and will be watching it every week. They bring more excitment to each episode than the other shows.

I'm Italian and from New Jersey! These women are ridiculous! There are so many cultures and beautiful areas of NJ that could have been represented. Shame, Shame! I won't be watching.

Bravo,

WHY????? From the preview, this is the worst! A joke! You wasted your time. Film ATL that is the only show were you showed a little of what they do outside of shopping. How about showing more of what they do for their family (you did for OC), for the community, etc. You only show the shallow side. Why don't you cast African Americans in the other shows?

Bennies Go Home

I was born and raised in NJ and I could not wait to see the show with NJ housewives. I was soooo disappointed. First of all,as others have said, these women are a stereotype of "Italians" and are all related but one I believe. They do NOT represent the wealthy, classy women of NJ. We do not say "Joisey" NY says Jersey that way. WE ARE NOT NY. Although we have been invaded because we have a beautiful State with beautiful people. So get off the turnpike and see the real NJ. How about Central NJ @ the Shore area. If you want wealthy society, try Spring Lake, Sea Girt,Deal,Rumson,Colts Neck in Monmouth County. Or Bayhead, Mantoloking, Long Beach Island, Avalon etc. in Ocean County. Many celebrities live amongst us and are involved in community services such as the Monmouth/Ocean Foodbank, Benefit concerts @ Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank. The next town over (Middletown) has a number of celebrities from newscasters to movie stars living there and the local "housewives" are seen in the local papers brushing elbows so to speak @ functions that benefit different charities. Show the real "Jersey Girls". Bruce, Bon Jovi, Richie, or Stevie, Clarence do because THEY live here and do concerts here. Stars such as Danny Aiello dine right in Spring Lake Hts. or a sighting of Ray Liotta in an Eckerd Drug Store on the Wall border. My friend was invited to a party @ a mansion on the beach in Bayhead with writers and the editor of a popular magazine.(She had met a columist @ an antique store in Point Pleasant and recognized her. Got invited just by being a friendly fan.) Again WE are not NY. Nothing wrong with NY (I love the NYC housewives show especially Bethenny & Jill) but we have a life here too. Yes "down the shore" we dress differently (think Tommy Hill in our madras)on a summer day. Like the Hampton housewives, we love our sundresses (I think NYC housewife Jill said "Lilly" that Ramona was wearing). So Bravo get with the real NJ women and do a real show. Or call the one you have Sopranos II and leave NJ out of it. Oh & "Bennies Go Home" meaning Day Benny is what we say for the touristas that like to invade, litter and abuse our "Garden State" especially during the Summer Season. We love our tourists however we love them more when they go home in September. Or then you could continue down our coast to AC, Wildwood, and there is always Cape May and those beautiful victorian mansions..Eat your heart out hamptons (smile)

I enjoy all these shows. They constitute my most guilty pleasure. Believe it or not, many AF/AM say that the old moneyed AF/AM of Atlanta would NEVER Ever do a show like this. I think I'm reading the same thing here about the NJ show. I'm just going to have fun.
Thanks Bravo once again. Undergoing through chemo and soon to have radiation is so much better when I can see one of these shows.

I am a big fan of all the Housewives shows and now they are finally doing my home state of NEW JERSEY! But I'm a little dismayed that the Housewives of OC held oranges, Atlanta-peaches, NYC-apples how come our Wives aren't holding TOMATOES as in Jersey Tomatoes. - Feeling left out in the GARDEN STATE!

I can't stand these shows and when a season is over I tell myself that's the last one. Then they come out with a new season and I get sucked back in again... Can't wait for it to start. The preview was so funny. Looks like the best group yet!

Where in NJ are there women like this?? No wonder 3 are in the same family. They had to pick one family with 3 women willing to "perform" this way to make up a cast of 5. My Aunts family all live in NJ and we have never seen anyone like this group except on the Soprano's!

Could they please be a little more awful? I don't think they're quite crass enough. Perhaps a little more emphasis on their ethnic background and material possessions could be jammed into the conversation? Because these characters haven't totally insulted the majority of Italian American women enough, have they? Old money, or even 2nd generation money, wouldn't have anything to do with a show like this, only the recently wealthy could get it so completely wrong, and then flaunt it on TV. Should make excellent viewing for insomniacs.

Bethenny is sensational, she is smart, funny, and should have her own show. Crazy about Jill, she makes watching the show fabulous. The others are a bore. Keep up the good entertainment, it's worth staying up for.

Ok, I'm a transplant to the Garden State, and even I don't like how NJ women are portrayed. Although this should be a very funny series. Face it, the REALLY wealthy people of NJ would not sign on to do this show.

I'd like to know why the Producers picked 3 ladies who are related. With a population as large as ours, and MANY MANY MANY wealthy areas (Franklin Lakes and Wayne not among them) whay couldn't you find other candidates? The relative thing is stupid.

And by the way, we're not all Italians here either. At least try to show some of our diversity...it's actually a great state. If you don't live here - you have no idea.

I'm from N.J. too. I didn't care for the way these women made us look either. Than I started thinking, of course it is going to be over the top. It's TV. We love watching shows like this. It's like watching a train reck. You have to watch although it's painful. I too felt these people, not just the women, where low class. Just because you have money doesn't mean you have class. They sounded so uneducated. Then I find out the one that sounded like the most ignorant was the college graduate. The one that called her husband delicious. Wow. First of all he might be good at business and good for him. But he doesn't sound intelligent. This stereotypical way people feel Jersey people speak is really prevalent in Jersey italians. Really only American born Italians from lower class families.
To be fair though. I admire one thing about the housewives of New Jersey. Caroline, she and her husband were not rich. They worked hard to have what they have. That is the American dream. Good for them. Now, as Caroline said, they are enjoying the fruits of their labor. Nothing wrong with that. Hope they are not the type of people who think now they are better than others. That is one thing that Italians tend to do. Think other nationalities are less than them. Let's face it, many people don't see it that way.
That comment earlier from a viewer saying that she is tired of people assuming all Italians are mafia. She is right. We shouldn't assume all are. There are many who are hard working honest people. If they don't want to be known as that, then they should stop acting like they belong in the mob. They all own the Godfather DVD's. They glorify it. I know, I have alot of Italian friends and know alot of Italian people.

Absolutely LOVE IT! Can't wait to see more. It is the Sopranos's version of Housewives...Ba Da Bing. I second the request for a "Happy Wife, Happy Life" t-shirt. Maybe the back can say "For geda bout it!" I'd buy one. And for the record, I don't view any of the Housewives Series as a true depiction of the women who live in these areas. For me, it is just pure entertainment. Every community has its wackos. Bravo just brings them together, records them on camera, and sells it to the rest of us as entertainment. You can either watch or change the channel.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME !
Why were these women picked? They are not interesting. They are an insult to New Jersey woman. The whole reason why I watch The Real Housewives is to look at the interesting lifes of SOCIALITE woman and their ELITE lifestyles. Not a bunch of mobster housewives who are all related and have nothing else better to talk about than the new pasta dish and the new rock they got! They dont look classy or sound well educated. They dont seem to have a purpose other than to get a new dress to my cousins Vinny’s wedding! I doubt they know any aristocrats from New Jersey or any Famous Socialites. What is the purpose of having all these related wives, who cares? I wonder if Bravo was threatened by the mob to pick their wives or else.
They definetly prove that money is not everything.

I love how so many people talk about NJ residents being classless. Any smart person knows every city in every state has it's good & bad. I'm so sick of people complaining about everything on tv. If you don't like it then change the channel. What defines classy? Half of the people complaining can't spell & practice bad grammar. Last time I checked that wasn't classy. Before you blog learn the difference between to, too & two. Don't forget about there, their & they're. You're embarrassing yourselves.

It's the real life Sopranos !!! It might be good aside from the fact that they are all related. Sort takes away from the reality of it. Catfights are better when it's not your Sister-in-law.

Enjoyed the show. Should be good for laughts. But why are you picking people we've seen on other shows. Not good idea. Now it makes me feel you set up these situations. Need people we have not seen on TV. Not a re-run of someones else doing another show. Good Luck. Actually, I thought the boys in the kitchen seemed more interesting. Why not try a show with good lucking men (husbands). The wives thing is getting boring.

HOLY CAT FIGHT!!! The New Jersey Housewives are going to take this series to an OUTRAGEOUS level. I LOVE IT! BRAVO has a gold mine with these shows and THEY KNOW IT! Bravo Hellloo - so you couldn't go down the parkway, exit 280 West, get off in Livingston or West Orange to find housewives? From there you could've gone over to Short Hills and get some there too. How about Chatham? NOooo, you took the first exit outta New York and picked horrible women from the slums of Patterson.

Dina was really familiar to me, and then I remembered seeing her on Platinum Weddings. Her gown was absolutely stunning. Unlike anything I have ever seen. Her wedding reception was spectacular. I like her , I think she is going to be my favorite.

Sick of the stereotype!

I am so disappointed by the cliche casting. Italian housewives of NJ- really how uninspired! NJ is actually a beautiful place with many affluent communities. Why did you go for the obvious, overdone choice? I thought Bravo would do better than that.

Loved the preview, can't wait til it starts! The one-liners are HILARIOUS, Caroline is GREAT, and the whole sisters married to brothers with an out-of-towner sister-in-law and everybody works at the same place..this is going to be AWESOME!!! Yes, the ladies seem to want to flaunt wealth and status symbols but what's different about that from the other Housewives?? New York is my favorite but I am looking forward to New Jersey also. Atlanta was okay, I do love Nene. But the drama that is coming out of NJ should be tops!

It's amazing that when Italian's have money and live in beautiful homes and run successful business, they are automatically assumed to be in the "mafia". Give me a break. I am Italian, and let me tell you, most of us are hard working, successful family people, not in the mafia, that is just a small group of people that give the rest of us a bad name.

I am from NJ, South Jersey though, not the shore area...I wish Bravo would have ventured out of North Jersey for this one. First of all its 5 minutes from NY if we wanted NY again we could have watched re-runs from last season. I grew up in NJ. The women I know from New Jersey are smart and fun and can disect every character in every play currently running on Broadway while flat ironing their hair stick straight for work. This show should be called Punked. The women Bravo picked for this show are awful, low class garish creatures. They are in no way representative of New Jersey women. Would Bravo go to Watts or East L.A. to find real Housewives of Los Angeles? Nevertheless, I will watch again.

Why don't people realize that Bravo, and every network, creates shows for certain demographics. Bravo's demographic is not the same as BET or HGTV. Nobody is going to watch a show about normal housewives in Iowa. That would be boring. People watch the Real Housewife series because the women are nuts and are too hungry for fame to realize that viewers are laughing at them. At least I hope they are laughing, and not looking up to them as role models! It is useless to preach to these cast members on these message boards. No matter how many people write in to tell Danielle to cool it on the Botox, to sell the tanning bed if she's so destitute, to stop flaunting her phone sex with a stranger on national tv because HER CHILDREN WILL BE WATCHING THE SHOW, she will never get it. THe only way the series will be renewed is if the women are outrageous, and they know it. They get paid per episode, they are whoring themselves and their families out for quick cash, and we're eating it up.

Hey Bravo:
What the heck happend to the Housewives of Atlanta? It would be nice to see more diversity of the cast, a mixture of women!!! I will not watch this Housewives series.. thanks but no thanks!!

you are portraying jersey girls in the wrong light.
try SOUTH jersey because thats where the REAL people are.

okay next time you want to do a show on NEW JERSEY, where i live, do it in SOUTH JERSEY ! cause north jersey people are just obnoxious. if you want REAL people head down to ventnor & atlantic city, where normal people live!!!!!
north&south jersey are completely different places. the people in south jersey are way better then the north jersey people. please correct this awful decision youve made.

Love the Preview. I miss the Sopranos so much and this is like the female version!!!! Love It. As a NY girl, I think its accurate enough. Get real people. It's just TV. You can't have your cake and eat it too. IF these women were all the classy, well behaved sophisticated women you all claim to want to see you would have NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. You wouldn't even bother with to write petty comments about how "boring" they are. HOWEVER, because they appear to be every reality tv execs wet dream, a bunch of empty-headed, loud-mouthed, flashy, gold diggers trying WAYYY to hard (and bit even coming close to succeeding )to be attractive, you can't get enough of them. I'm an Italian women born and raised in Bergen County and I just want the rest of America to know that we are NOT all like the way these women are.The show looked like the it was a casting call for a Sopranos reunion. I for one am so tired of the stereotypical way we are portrayed in shows such as this it's no wonder people think of NJ as the "armpit" of America. And for the record,. because these women who own The Brownstone are so unpleasant, I will never have a party or any other kind of function there. I would rather go The Manor in West Orange or Seasons in Westwood. At least going to those other banquet halls you don't have to worry about locking your car doors if you make a wrong turn. I watch the OC housewives and the NY ones. I won't be watching this.

I'm from New York, and I've lived in New Jersey. There are wealthy housewifes in both states who have class, dignity, intelligence, etc. but you won't see them doing a show like the this - so the producers dig up what they can and who is willing, without class or shame, etc. Do you really think these two shows represent real housewifes from NY & NJ. I watch for the fun of it, and I feel really sorry for these women on the show, because they don't see themselves the way the t.v. viewers see them, then again, they don't care. They are only interested in being seen, noticed, and think they are celebrities - as if that is something to aspire to.

I think this show is going to be hysterical!!! It is so typical of the North Jersey guidos & guidettes where flash is more important than substance. Oops this has corrections -- I was so mad when I saw the show I couldn't see straight to type!

I agree with many of the posts about this show being a SOPRANOS "mafia" view of NJ housewives. Give me a break. I was so excited when I saw they were doing a Housewives of NJ, but should have known by the representation from NY Housewives that it would be Bergen County women, you know with NY accents - guidettes - being represented. HELLO . . . what about the rest of the state? We get a bad enough rap from the area along the NJ Turnpike then you bring in these ridiculous women to represent the millionaire wives of NJ. I guess you couldn't find anyone with that kind of money who were educated and didn't TAUWK (and that's not a misspelling) like their from NYC. That's right, those people don't need their 15 mins. of fame! The mom on this show who said she sees more value in street smarts (for her 19-year old whose ambition in life is to open a strip club) than a college education (referring to the son who's gong to law school). What the *@!$ PLEASE PULL THE PLUG ON THIS SHOW BEFORE YOU RUIN what little dignity we have left here in NJ!!!

A fan of all the Housewives

I look forward to watching all of the Real Housewives but the ones from Jersey shuld stay there. As a fan of all the housewives I won't be watching the Jersey wives. I feel that Bravo went way over board with this one. How about the Real Housewives of anywhere but Jersey. (No that was not a question.)

I think the shows are great. I watch them all. Yes they are crazy but very entertaining. I hope they keep making these shows. Its fun to see how other people live their lives. I think bravo has a good series with these shows. Thank you bravo....

Proud Jersey Girl

Ok first of all this show is going to be hilarious. Is it an accurate depiction of NJ? No, not entirely. But as a girl from north jers I can tell you that, although there are MANY areas in North Jersey that are not like that, there are an equal number of areas that are exactly like that! As for you upset jersey shore peeps, if you wanna bash anyone it should be MTV's "Im a Jersey Shore Girl", cuz that was BOGUS! No girl from the shore looks or acts like that. But ya really cant be upset with this show because it may misrepresent New Jersey as a whole but I'm sure every housewife in Atlanta and NYC was not exactly like the woman they chose to film as well. All in all, don't bash my state, its a show, get over it.

What a huge disappointment I could only watch fifteen minutes and these women all look like mobsters wives. Who was in charge of deciding on the wives to choose? This series depicts flashy, italian women. New Jersey has many classy professional women and also middle class stay at home moms! This truly looks like an episode of the Sopranos. I'm embarrassed to say I live in New Jersey after that episode!

Disgusted Housewives Fan

I have been a fan of the Housewives series since the beginning. The preview of New Jersey was a huge dissapointment. They are a joke. I can't believe New Jersey was the best you could come up with, especially with all of the success of the preceeding shows. Housewives New Jersey resembles the Sopranos with a splash of Fran Drescher. Give me a break! Needless to say, I will sit this one out. Better luck Next time..

This should be one *HOT MESS* of a show! :)
I saw the blonde NJ Housewife get married in "Platinum Weddings" - just knowing THAT background gives me some insight to the family!

I love your housewives series because it gives me a glimpse of what type of women to stay away from. While watching your latest line I heard Danielle say that she wants to be a princess again and someone needs to swoop in and save her and the kids. She also said that she would be kicked out of her home if she didnt recieve a settlement soon. Didnt seem too worried when your tanning and sitting on your ass. Go get a job, because bottom line is that even with a new husband, youll be divorced again if you dont get it together. No one wants to deal with lazy women.

Jersey Girl

As someone who lives in New Jersey, I am completely offended that this is the representation of our state. SERIOUSLY!!! Can you at least just name the city not just brand the whole state with these women?!

I DO NOT live in North Jersey near these women, but rather at the beach where they invade our towns with entitlement attitudes. The only glad part of summer ending is the farewell to these awful people in our shore towns.

C'mon Bravo why are you perpetuating this dreadful stereotype of our state?!

Horrified Viewer

I am absolutly horrified at the way the NJ housewives acted. It is a terrible depiction of NJ and I am embarrassed to live here if these are the horrific people being displayed. This is definatly not how the Real Housewives of New Jersey act and Bravo and the owners of the Brownstone House should be mortified to even have these people on the air.

honestly, the real housewives shows are about drama, would you watch them every week if it was boise idaho or tennesee, good ol conservative down on the farm wholesome family business? While that is all well and good, it does not make for good TV, because that would be like looking in a mirror for most of us. Bring on the Jersey wives and all the trashy glamorous-ness!!

I was bored. That girl Dina is hooked on reality TV. She was already on platinum weddings. Bravo what were you thinking? If I want to watch the sopranos I can just pop in the DVD.
