Once Michael stated that he wanted to be Top Chef so that Brian didn't get it, I was so disappointed that they gave the title to him. The entire season was comradery at it's finest except for Michael. For him to do this to his own brother was very sad, especially with their mom there. I sure hope Michael gives Brian half the money or at least give him the Prius!!!
Brian should have been TOP CHEF!!!!
It was obvious from the first show that the judges were going to have Bryan and Michael in the final. I am sure their minds were already made up before the competition even started. Even when they did poorly they never even considered putting them out even when the other chefs were better. I think Kevin was just their token "other guy". Very dissappointing.
ps, I completely agree with the other viewer. I thought it was poor form and unfortunate luck for Kevin of the last challenge when they all drew knives. Maybe it was going w. the "Las Vegas" theme of luck, but the chef shouldn've had the opportunity to pick their own sous chefs to make it a fairer competition ... Go Kevin!!
I was soooooo sad and SHOCKED that KEVIN didn't win!!! He was very consistent throughout the competition. He held his cool and cooked his best! Simple is sometimes a better choice, because of the subtleties you have to look for in the flavors. The brothers might have been better at cookin out of the box, but they didn't win nearly as many challenges. Kevin is MY Top Chef! He should win Fan Favorite!! He is amazing and I wish him the best! I think the winner should've been chosen based on all the challenges and quick fires (we don't really know how much the judges deliberated). It seemed as though, because Kevin didn't do so hot in the finale, THAT was the only reason he didn't win! I didn't really enjoy watching the brother's cook and compete. Sometimes it was really hard to tell them apart! Poor Kevin! Just know you have a fan :)
I know I didn't taste the food but from what I can see and I've seen every episode of every season, Bryan should be Top Chef! No question. Hands down. He was consistent all season, his dishes were a feast for the eyes as well, and he could do everything; his desserts were amazing. Every dish he produced had me watching in amazement. I'm truly disappointed.
Joe Stango This year in my opionion was the best. I had tears in my eyes and liked all 3 finalits. For me it came down to Brian and Michael that night. But Kevin was excellent all season. The most PROFESSIONAL finalist of all the seasons. Great cooks LOVED the show Thank you Bravo!!
Congratulations Michael!!!! I was rooting for you from day one!!! I think that your approach to food, and the passion for your craft carried you to the win. You showed confidence in your ability and stayed true to yourself. I was stoked that you and Bryan were the top two and in a real way, the win was especially sweet because you shared it with your brother. As much as the sibling rivalry showed itself throughout the season, your love and respect for one another also was apparent. Much success & think about continuing a collaboration with your brother. You compliment one another. Where he is weak, you are strong and vice versa. Opening a restaurant together could be nothing but a HUGE success...food for thought...lol. Again, congrats. I truly wish you and your family the best!!!
I think the judges def picked the wrong brother. Bryan had a stronger menu, better prepared food, and as well executed desert. I can't believe he did not win Top Chef..
I think when bringing back past contestants the "Top Chef" judges should bring back the best chefs possible. They should look at the pool of chefs and bring the best of the best or bring on established chefs in the business(Top Chef Masters). To bring back Eli, Jennifer and Preeti. You put at least one person at a disadvantage in the finale, I think Preeti is on the way to be a great chef but she is not there now. The finale is the moment when you need to concentrate on a putting out your best meal and not worry if your sous chef is working in a diligent and efficient manner. I think they should allow them to bring back there own sous chef from there respected restaurants or catering companies to work with them on there finale challenge. At least you stand on equal footing with someone you trust.
The need to rename it to Top Weekly Chef! Because that is what they were doing.......judging weekly not overall.
I was so upset, it should have been bryan or kevin. Michael made too many mistakes. I really can't understand what the judges were thhinking??? Again, I am totally disappointed.
I am really disappointed that Kevin didn't win. He is such a great, humble guy. The two brothers have a lot to learn about humility. Kevin - you are number ONE in my book - may you have much deserved success in all you do!
As much as i loved the brothers they were great! But my bf and i really were hoping for kevin to win, but we love the show and everyone in it. Thank you guys for all yor hard work
Kevin got the shaft. His first dish, which was the best, did not mean anything. Tody seemed to like Kevin across the board. The disdain on his face told me that the decision on Top Chef had been made, and his vote or opinion meant nothing. Quite frankly, I think it was swayed towards the brotherw whom were mean to Robin and quit arrogant towards the others and were quit rude and mean with several comments that they made. They are not as good as they think that they are. Kevin got a raw deal in my opinion. The decision seemed to already have been made. And, what was wrong with Padma and her attitude this year. She was not freindly and acted pompus all year, and this was unlike the past. Kevin should have won!!!! Tom even said that Kevin was the shining star to watch out for. How did he lose???
It was ill-advised to introduce the random element of drawing knives to determine sous chefs in the finale. One wants the winner to be determined solely by what they can do as a chef. For one chef to have Jennifer, who was among the top contestants, and anther to have Preeti, who was among the least talented chefs is silly. Kevin was clearly thrown by this inequity, and while rolling with the punches is part of being a chef, the finale is not the time for this sort of luck-of-the-draw factor. As for the winner, I thought that they were all talented chefs, but as for the Voltaggio's "sophisticated" dishes, flavor is also a matter of sophistication and, presentation and conception aside, Kevin most often produced the most interesting and satisfying flavors all season.
Really? Micheal?! That guy is SUCH a jerk. But I guess it's Top Chef not Top Restaurateur. Clearly he can cook but who would want to work for that guy?! Kevin and Bryan were so professional, even keeled and just plain nice. I think Micheal should read these posts and re-evaluate his attitude, or prepare for constant turnover of staff. 125K won't go far if you never hit your stride because you're constantly training new people...he'll never get ahead of the curve.
The three finalists are excellent chefs. Regretfully, the judges were blinded by Michael's complex recipes, arrogant presence, and may I say more marketable looks! Complicated recipes are not necessarily better or more creative. It takes a lot of culinary skill and creativeness in being very, very good while impressing as simple. On my opinion Kevin's food was not only good, but OVERALL he epitomizes everything a Top Chef is all about.
I think they all should have won. They were all great! But the two brothers deserve to share the winnings! I love the show but always fall asleep during the commercials between the judges table and who wins. So I watch the next week before the new one to find out who won the week before. I usually find out on commercial previews before I get to see it. Great job Michael! I hope your brother is proud of you!
Kevin should have won. Mike needs an attitude adjustment. the things he said about the others was out of line and made him look awful. I am out. The judges were wrong. Kevin should have won, with Bryan the next choice. Think his majesty was "something" on the show with his comments and actions, now wait. He is and will never be a team player. It's all aout him. He treats others as if they are beneath him. I think not...
kevin was good and won lots of challenges but all in all micheal was a better chef his dishes were way more sophisticated than kevins simple dishes and maybe micheal did learn the dishes kevin cooked in his second year fact is he was better and it showed i still think bryan shouldve won i absolutley love him he is soooooo hot!
Congratulations Michael!!! Your cooking was fantastic all season, and your creativity was amazing through all the episodes, enjoy your new title, your brother also did a great job, but you can only have one top chef!! Congratulations!!
I have been disappointed in the judges' choices in every season except the first. This is no exception. I doubt I'll bother with this show anymore. What a travesty.
I'm so annoyed that Michael won! He's been such a jerk through the entire season. I would have rather seen the nice brother win, but like always, evil triumphs.
Bryan was robbed. That was so wrong. He was far better than the other two. I am really let down by top chef. I never thought like this before... but I may not watch next season.
I'm so HAPPY that Michael won! He is the best, and he is sexy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats Michael you deserved to win!
oh my gosh I cant believe the tonight is the night i've been waiting for since this season started. I love Top Chef! Every wed. is the day i start getting ready for a great dinner and eat while I watch the show. Now as far as my vote i have to vote for Michael. I love his style in every way. From his cooking to his attitude.
I really hope kevin wins, but my second choice would be Michael. All three are incredible chef but Kevin has that extra something that I like, maybe I'm bias because I am from the South, but I love him and his techniques! He cooks for the PEOPLE. He has to win!!!!! Go Kevin!!
unfortunately sound not coming through on Bravo channel here in beaufort south carolina for the past hour and a half and now through the finale. Darn!!! Love this show!
Hope Kevin wins but he drew Preeti. A shame. Sure she is nice/sweet but not good for Kevin on this day.
I think this has been the best season. I am curious how many of these challenges Tom could have pulled off though. I would like to see him on Top Chef Master and see how he handles the pressure after blasting away at everyone for so long.
Kevin and Bryan have been such gentlemen. They are the kind of men you wish you had as friends or even brothers. Too bad Michael has been so negative to both his brother and Kevin. This season has been the most predictable of who was going to make it to the end. Jen instead of Michael had my Las Vegas $$$$ on the table. For tonite Kevin, just cook your food. I want the brothers to be able to relate and their family to have some peace.
