Kathy Wakile's Daughter Undergoes Second Brain Surgery

Victoria opens up about her harrowing procedure.

By Sarv Kreindler

Kathy Wakile and her family can breathe a sigh of relief after what has surely been a difficult time for them. Her daughter, Victoria, underwent surgery earlier this month to remove a benign brain tumor. Thankfully, the surgery was successful.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/9c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

This is the second time in ten years that the 20-year-old has had to undergo the same procedure. "I was nervous—why did it happen again?" Victoria reveals to OK! Magazine of her tumor coming back. But now that she is in recovery, she says she is feeling much better. "Now, each day I get more stamina."

Kathy has long been involved in raising brain tumor awareness. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star's Goddess Eye jewelry line gives a portion of its proceeds to the National Brain Tumor Society and the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation. In honor of her daughter's recovery, she has also helped raise almost $500K for brain tumor research.

Kathy adds that her daughter's energy is on the upswing—and Victoria's back to doing what normal girls do. "She’s great," Kathy says. "They initially get her out of bed after two days, and the doctor told her to get on her phone and text her friends. Yesterday, she was out of the house all day with her friends. Today we went to her campus to talk to her advisors and get all of her work from her professors."

Leave your well wishes for Victoria and her family in the comments below.
