It's chewy. It's wheaty. It's "weird as all get-out."

Paul Gude's Gluten Chew
Are you looking to replace chips and cookies with a healthier snack? Or maybe you just want to experiment in the kitchen with a taffy-like substance that (visually, at least) looks much less appetizing than taffy? Well, go buy a lottery ticket because today is your lucky day!

During his house tour video, LOLwork quirkmeister Paul Gude whips up a quick version of what he's calling his Gluten Chew. Basically, it's wheat gluten mixed with water -- but because he's a man of the people, Paul wanted to share his culinary magic with viewers who were all smiles with the premiere of LOLwork last night. So, rather than just water + gluten, he's using actual seasoning here.

"As a vegan, my protein intake is sometimes low," Paul wrote along with the below recipe. "This chew uses vital wheat gluten to get a whopping 23 grams of protein. Not suitable for gluten-free diets and weird as all get-out, this is a lifesaver for me."

Gluten Chew
1/4 Cup Vital Wheat Gluten Flour
1/4 Cup Water
1 Tsp Agave Syrup
1 Pinch of Salt

Mix everything together in a small bowl until it's the consistency of taffy. Chew and chew and chew! The agave syrup and salt are not necessary, but make the experience a bit more enjoyable. No promises.
