The Gorgas had a heated moment on last night's episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey when Joe reprimanded his wife for antagonizing Teresa Giudice on Twitter. It's just the latest chapter in the ongoing saga between the estranged family members. But might we be seeing fractures in the couple's marriage now, too?
Not quite. In her latest blog post, Melissa Gorga pulls back the curtain on their marriage and says their union isn't that unusual. "Joe and I have a real marriage," she writes. "We argue. We struggle. We don't put on an act like we're happy and laughing all the time. That's not who we are, or what we want to represent."
Their secret to success? "Mutual respect, trust, and affection," says Melissa, who is releasing a book Love Italian Style about her marriage in September.
The couple's most dramatic exchange happened when Joe yelled at his wife, "My parents look at you like you're the devil." Melissa says he made that claim beacuse he believed Teresa was providing them with a "twisted vision of our marriage." But now, Melissa says they've righted any wrongs with the elder Gorgas. "After the fight with Teresa at Gia's party and Joe's argument with Teresa at the gym, we've had them over for dinner since and made sure they're not upset."
Melissa also says that last night's argument encapsulates their union. "That's our marriage in a nutshell," she says. And she admits that she may have been wrong to antagonize Teresa. "Joe told me I was wrong to do it, and I agreed with my husband," she writes. "I shouldn't stoop to her level. It only gives her something to complain about."
Watch Joe Educate Melissa About Her Behavior
I think its awful that you told your mother you want to make your home a place Joe won't think of other women. What does that say about your mother? Was it her fault your father cheated. Very hurtful immature comment.
OMG im either psychic or I know a bit about people, right? So, in saying that, get your head out of the clouds... you must have been devastated to find out your friend is a benedict Arnold -- I know exactly how that feels and its a darn shame that females can be so....back-stabbing. Watch your back and keep your ego in check, girl.
Melissa said her friend back stabbed her because her friend had the goods on her and she talked...that is why Melissa said she back stabbed her because her friend was telling the truth
Melissa, you are a very fortunate, yet unfortunate young woman. Your husband is the best ! Its too bad that Theresa doesn't share in your joy of loving him, instead she chooses to be jealous of his affection for you. Its really a shame because you seem to be a nice person and are a very lucky one! Your husband Adores you ! (caps on that!!) You must be a good woman because your children are well-behaved (well as far as kids go! :) ) and your husband will defend you to the death! Gotta Love that! I hope you conquer all those that are haters. Keep believing in yourself but don't get a big ego! You will have a wonderful life if you stay that way.
Let' s see your husband told his sister she was dead to him....what do you expect her to do? Just curious.
