"About 3:30 in the morning, Tina woke me up and said she had basically lost all control of her bladder," her husband Tarz Ludwigsen tells the Dish. "I went to see if everything was OK and there was water literally all over the bathroom floor. I was like, 'Holy sh--, I think your water just broke!"
For a second, Tina didn't believe him—"I was like, 'Shut up!' I took a shower, I put on makeup!"—but then her contractions started ramping up and the two knew it was time to go to the hospital.
What followed was one of the scariest moments in Tina's life: she nearly lost the baby. "Every time she had a contraction the baby's heartbeat would start to drop," Tarz says. "The doctor said, 'I don't know what that is yet. I'm not exactly sure. I think it might be that the umbilical cord is getting to tight."
Tina was then transferred to an operating unit. A caesarean procedure was quickly performed, which Tina said felt like, "they were pulling all my organs out!" Thankfully, the doctors successfully brought her baby joy, Tarz David Sugandh, into the world—six weeks before Tina's scheduled due date. Says Tina, "When I heard the baby cry, I really had no idea what was going on!"
Has the the glammed-up Bollywood singer adapted to motherhood instantly? Not at first. "They pulled him out from behind a little curtain and they were like, 'Here do you want to hold him?'" she says with a laugh. "It was the most disgusting thing I'd ever seen. I was like, 'No! Why don't you go ahead and clean him up first. I'll still be here.'"
But as the days have gone on, she's gotten more comfortable with new maternal role—and her instincts are kicking in. "I have a littly tiny breast pump and I pump literally while I'm driving," she says. "I'm going to get a ticket for milking and driving! I'm still bonding with him. We've only been home a week and I'm still bonding with him!"
As for "Tarzie," the couple say he's adjusting fine since his emergency deliver and he's quickly gaining weight. "We brought him home at 5lbs 1oz.," says Tarz. "He's at seven lbs now!"
Adds Tina with a laugh, "Oh god, he's a fat ass!"
Might the new parents be thinking about giving "Tarzie" a sibling in the future? Definitely. "I love my son to bits but when they told us at three or four months that it was a boy I said, 'Well, can we try now?'" Tina recalls. "I really want my girl."
