The Atlanta Housewife says she's leaning on her friends for support—not men.

on Oct 31, 2013 - The Dish0

On the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, premiering this Sunday, we'll see Porsha Stewart trying to rebuild her life after a very painful and very public divorce. In March, Kordell Stewart filed a surprise petition to dissolve their marriage; the couple wed in 2011.

Now, she is opening up about her tribulations over the past year. "It was very difficult with everyone knowing all the details of the divorce. When you’re going through a divorce, you would rather go through it alone, and I had to go through a divorce in front of the world," she tells Hip Hop Weekly Magazine. "But you never know how strong you are until you are put in a certain position. I realized my strength and that’s what’s keeping me together."

The youngest Atlanta Housewife, who has shown an uncommon amount of grace and positivity throughout the ordeal, has been leaning on her fellow Housewives for support. "I’ve gotten closer to NeNe, Kandi and Phaedra," she says. "These women have had life experiences on their own and when they saw me as a young woman going through something, they decided to take all of their experiences and knowledge and poured it into me and that really, really helps."

One thing she's not looking for right now? A man. "I am working hard, so I am not paying attention to men in that way," she says. "I work all the time and I am paying attention to myself. People around me know I’m not quite ready to date yet."

Hi Portia

Its good to see you again on RHOA , I think that you are beautiful ,classy and a great asset to the show.. I really liked you and  Kordel  as a couple on the show... (am in the minority here)  but I DON'T CARE, THIS IS MY OPINION) I don't agree with most people who say that Kordell  was controlling while you guys were on the show?  he was just being a husband that people of today's society  cannot relate to and I understand and admired this.  But,,, however, when He filed for divorce and you heard about it on twitter ,, when he "locked you out because you came home late" and all the other mean stuff that He did ,,, I was very disappointed by his actions.., this is a direct response to his "ANGER",  (THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG AND OUT OF ORDER) and is unacceptable on any level.

Maybe his side of the story we will never know as he has not said anytime to the public.

Bottom line is I think you were "unequally  yoked together" as I saw videos  of you preaching the " word of God" -  return to your first love and allow HIM to send you the husband that He has specially ordained for you.

I will not be responding to anyone comments, opinions and arguments as this is my opinion and no one  can change this.   Peace out

God Bless

I have never been so upset for a housewife, like I have Porsha! She seemed so loyal, and deeply in love, with her husband. On tv at least , she always had Cordell's back, 100%! The minute she tried to have her own opinion, or expected Cordell to help with any babies they had, he RAN to divorce court! He did not come off, as a fully invested, equal partner to Porsha. She is a beautiful, sweet woman who really deserved so much better than what that selfish, narcissistic, husband gave her. I just can't believe he just let her go like that, as if she never really mattered! It's not what a man of character, morals and honesty would do. He seemed to not want to discuss, work on, or do anything that would put him and his wife on a positive course to reconciliation. For that, he is a fake, a loser, and no man I would ever want to know. Good luck to Porsha!

Porsha,  I feel for you and I hope that you keep your head up and pray that God will send you the right man and not a disrespectful, controlling one who is not worthy of you.
