Earlier this week, Richard Blais shared some running tips for busy travelers with us, and while we knew that he was an avid runner these days, it came as a complete surprise when he sent along an old photo of himself before adopting his exercise routine. Yep -- he's dropped 60 pounds over the last 8 years, an amazing transformation that he details this week in his blog.
"As most of you won't be surprised to hear, I've become borderline obsessed with running," he writes. "Next month I'll run my second ING New York City marathon, and two weeks later on Thanksgiving morning, I'll run a half marathon in Atlanta. Some of you have followed me since Season 4 of Top Chef. But not too many of you probably know that I've lost 60 or so pounds over the last 8 years."
Richard is now raising money with his marathon running for Alliance for a Healthier Generation, which helps fight childhood obesity. Last year for the NYC Marathon, Richard raised more than $25,000, and he's doing so once again this year. For information on how to donate and for more of Richard's blog post, click this link!
