In the time before Letterman and Leno, a star would know he or she had made it if they were asked to come on Johnny Carson's classic late-night show. But on last night's Watch What Happens Live Soleil Moon Frye (a.k.a. beloved child star Punky Brewster) revealed she got into Carson's inner circle in a creative way.

When Andy Cohen asked Frye which shows were near hers on the lot, she reveals, "Johnny Carson was right next door."

That proximity came into play the first time Frye had a serious meltdown on set. "The first time I ran away, I ran to Johnny's office," she reveals. "There was a fight, one of the girls and I got into it, and I was hiding behind his desk."

If that story wasn't 1980s enough for you, get a load of what other show neighbored Frye's on the lot: "Santa Barbara was right next door! It was old school."

Watch Soleil Moon Frye reveal her amazing Johnny Carson story and tell us in the comments: which Punky Brewster episode do you remember the best?
