Real Housewives of New Jersey fans, here's your chance to check out an exclusive excerpt from Teresa's new book, Skinny Italian. Teresa thinks you'll "love, love, love" it! Here's the skinny straight from the Jersey girl:
Family tradition is very important to me. A lot of our family time, our culture, and our love revolves around being in the kitchen. I learned to cook from my mom, and I cook homemade meals for my family almost every night. I’ve been collecting my mom’s recipes, tips, tricks and secrets from the Old World for healthy Italian living for years. I finally wrote them down to pass on to my kids, and the result is Skinny Italian. It’s a love letter to my mom. It’s full of full-color photographs, over 60 family recipes straight from Salerno, and of course, a bit of behind-the-scenes gossip thrown in.

I love this idea. Teresa is a living doll and if her cooking keeps her looking so lean, then I'm all over that new cookbook!!! I was never fortunate to learn great cooking from my elders. I'm self taught, believe me if I had known that I would miss Grandma's gravy so bad I would've taken notes. Anybody out there got a great gravy recipe? I'm not talking like mashed potato and gravy, I'm talking Italian Sunday dinner gravy, red sauce, filled with fresh tomatoes and simmered all day long. My only memory of my Grandmothers was that she used to cook up some veal, pork and Italian sausage as the base. I'm not Italian by blood. Actually Portuguese but I had a lot of cousins, uncles etc.. that were. As our family dinner toast " There are only 2 kinds of people in the world, Italians, and those that wish they were"
Can one of the housewives hook me up with a real Sunday dinner gravy? Pretty please!!! Teresa you go girl! Love you guys and the show is awesome. I'm tickled that your back for another season!
Somebody help a stuck in the mid-west housewife cook up some authentic gravy?
I just purchased Teresa's cook book from amazon. Interesting, I was on youtube and got a recommendation from a youtube subscriber that this book is fabulous! So I ordered it. Can't wait to receive it. And I love you Teresa, you rock.
Theresa is just a grown up Snookie, married to her musclebound and muscle headed Italian guy -- I don't get it. AND she is DEFINITELY a Stage Mother -- could not be more of one. Everything she does betrays that. She's a pretty girl though and probably a good cook.
I got the book & I love it. Thank you - healthy italian recipes made easy for someone with absolutely no culinary skills. My family loves the meals I have made so far..
JUST LOVE THERESA'S NEW COOKBOOK. RECEIVED MY COPY RECENTLY AND WILL LOOK FORWARD TO READING IT SOON.
THERESA AND HER FAMILY ARE THE GREATEST AND MADE WATCHING THE RHONJ SO MUCH FUN.
WISHING SHE AND JOE AND THE LOVELY LITTLE ONES ALL THE LUCK IN THE NEW LIFE THAT AWAITS THEM.
THEY WILL COME UP SMELLING LIKE ROSES, JUST WATCH.

I can't wait for this book, The Skinny Italian!! I looked at this today and have to have it. I am half Italian, but am so proud I just say 100%. My Grandma says I have her gift of cooking. I'm making my own traditions over here because I want more Italian-ness in my house/family than my family can give, lol. Thanks for this book Teresa and can't wait to own it.
