Who's the New OC Housewife?: The OC is back for a fifth season - with a new housewife!

Production is well underway for the fifth season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, and this year a new leading lady will be thrown into the fray. Socialite Alexis Bellino, described as (what else?) "a 32-year-old spicy blonde," will be joining Tamra Barney, Lynne Curtin, Vicki Gunvalson, Jeana Keough and Gretchen Rossi. Hear that, Gretch? You're not the new girl anymore! You've been initiated. You're in, but if Tamra has anything to say about it, you'll still be hazed.

The deets on the OC newbie:

Stay-at-home mom Alexis resides in the exclusive enclave of Newport Coast, Calif. with her husband, Jim Bellino, a self-made entrepreneur. Alexis and Jim have three young children – three-year-old James and 20-month-old twins Melania and Mackenna. Originally from the small town of Hannibal, Mo., Alexis is now living the Southern California dream in one of the most prominent and envied areas of Orange County. Alexis keeps herself busy by being the best wife and mother she can, and when she does have a free moment, she likes to work out to keep herself looking and feeling her best.

: 09/03/2009 - 10:50am; caroline; I can't wait for the new season to start. I think Gretchen brings glamour to the show with her beauty and style. I too miss Lauri but love Vicki and Jenna. Lynn is my least favorite and I think her daughters don't really fit in with the other OC kids. Let the new shows begin...I'm tired of the Atlanta housewives, especially KIM.

: 07/27/2009 - 4:35am; Ima; Quinn, didn't like the way she was portrayed on the show and opted not to do another season. Jeana said that she had not come to an agreement with the shows producers and at right before shooting was to began, Jeana wasn't going to do the show.
The show is taking the route of MTV The Hills, in that it is so scripted.

The only reason I might have is because of Gretchen. I can't stand a couple of the other women but Jeana has always been the balance that was needed. Without her it would be a total free for all. Thank you Bravo for bringing my girl back.

I know Gretchen is not a "housewife" but I can't wait to see her with Tamara, Vicki and Jeana... I'm surprised the show didn't cut Lynn like they did Gwen. I'm glad they are giving her a chance... Hopefully, Lynn will shine this season... but it will be an uphill battle... considering the "drama" between Gretchen and Tamara and then a new housewife addition. I had hoped Lauri would return this season. I wish her the best and wonder how Josh is doing?

Jeana and Vicki are the core of the show, and I have my husband hooked. The houswivws will work OC, Atlanta,New York, New Jersey, but heck no to rich teens in NYC PREP SCHOOLS, or Drunk Miami wanna bees

I am sooooooooooo glad Jeana's coming back, she and Vicki are the reasons I watch! There were rumours Jeana wasn't coming back, I was worried.
