Sound the trumpets! Or, I guess, hit some pans, we are proud to announced that Top Chef 6 will be in ... LAS VEGAS!
Um, so yeah that's pretty much it. But I think that's enough. Get excited!

I think Las Vegas sounds AWFUL for Top Chef. There are so many much better cities that have yet to be used for a season- Boston, Charleston, Atlanta, Austin..... Why Vegas- tacky.
nice I have not seen a single episode, but i get the rundown at work, I have bravo now, so i cannot missed it because i can recordit. awsome!!!
That's very anticlimatic and a bit of deja vu. The first season finale was held there. So - big deal.
What are the odds that at least one of the challenges will be poker/casino game based? The roulette quickfire! A Texas Hold'em elimination?
Totally looking forward to this.
Las Vegas?! That is very anticlimatic and a bit of deja vu because it was where the Season 1 finale was held. It's a town of illusion, soullessness and polyester clothing. Are there any fresh markets available or is everything vacuum packed? So - big deal. Yawn.
BORING.. Boston, Seattle or Philadelphia whould have been better choices. Where are the fresh markets, farms or interesting chefs in Las vegas? All the chefs are chefs that have opened outposts here. while I think the food is 100% better than it was, I don't think cuttign edge when I think las vegas.
"It's a town of illusion, soullessness and polyester clothing."
Unlike... say... LA? or Miami? Uh... yeah.
But I agree... challenge these guys! Maine! Milwaukee! Lutefisk in Minneapolis/St. Paul! Okay, I'm serious about the Twin Cities one, but hold the lutefisk...
I agree with HoHum. LV is a let down after the chefs cooked it up in New Orleans. What a great place to host Top Chef, with its Cajun charm and unique blend of multi-cultural cuisine, New Orleans is the Ultimate!!! Give it a chance for Season 7! Les Le Bon Temps Roulette! Hint for Season 8...Santa Fe!!!
Lets go to Kansas City, Memphis, Santa Fe, Nm and Honolulu for the upcoming seasons. All four towns feature some outstanding food. Vegas, even though i lived there for 6 years, is a bit played out on t.v. Why not have local chefs only in an upcoming season of top chef? By the way when does the new season of top scallop, i mean top chef start?
I really wish they would consider holding it here in Kansas City.......we are definitely more than just barbecue (although there is not a thing wrong with our 'cue!)---great farmer's markets, professional sports, the Power & Light district---------the list goes on & on!
I thought it might be Seattle, Boston, Dallas, Atlanta, or even Denver. If we are true Top Chef fans we don't care where it is....we can only hope they do it better next time!
Las Vegas is a WONDERFUL choice!! There are so many world renowned chefs that have restaurants there. My husband and I go to Las Vegas for the FOOD. I, for one, am looking forward to the upcoming season.
i can't wait...I love this show to death. VIVA LAS VEGAS!!! They should do a challenge where the chefs have to create a romantic picnic for cuples who ride the boats at the venitian.
Having worked in Vegas... I cant wait to see what they have planned. In the city where anything is possible and you have everything you could ever imagine... this is going to be one crazy season!
The choice of Las Vegas is BFD! Been there, done that already. Don't you people remember the Top Chef S-1 Finale was held there? The way the contest goes, it might as well be "Top Meal" or "Tom's Favorite". Who Cares? Not me...
Well after the hosea/leah tabloid tv event, this fits the trend of the show going the way of trash tv.
as long as the next season has a better choice of a winner i don't care where it's held. can't wait for the new top chef.
LV is kind of a ho hum choice. Why not try a city that is full of wonderful food and hospitality? Give Atlanta some thought. New York, Miami, New Orleans, Chicago and Hawaii were all great. Let's hope this next one lives up to the past seasons.
I'm excited to see top chef season 6. I've watched every season and they've been great. Let me know when season 6 starts so I can watch it.
I have to admit... I am a bit disappointed that Las Vegas is the choice for Season 6. Everyone knows what Vegas has to offer, even if you've never been there. I love Vegas, but I think that another less popular city would have been better. We could all see the culture, etc of that city. How about overseas... Top Chef London, Paris, Barbados, anyone??
How about Paris? Tokyo, or Beijing?? Rio? For either locations or finales??
When does Season 6 begin? I'm very impatient.
Well all you will have to tune in because yes we do have Farmer's Markets - with actual farms within town and a few just outside of town...shows you how much you can learn if you got off the Strip once in a while.
Maybe that is why they want to have Top Chef here, to show that we are a real city with all the perks just like any other city...we just happen to have one really famous road.
We are just as good as Boston, Santa Fe & Denver, I have been to them all so I am familiar with what they have to offer, stop 'hating' Vegas and find out for yourselves. I hope with all the negative chatter the show actually does show us as a real city...as we are.
Why Las Vegas???!!! Why not Dallas or even San Antonio or maybe Austin??? I'm sorry, but Las Vegas is NOT a food town!! When was the last time that the producers of Top Chef was OFF the Strip?? You can't even find a resturant open past 10pm, except for Denny's or IHOP! NO WAY!
How about Charleston SC ?? New Orleans?? The food in these two precious gems of the south is the absolute best of the best. Vegas is not what I think about when I think of going to for great food. Even ST.Louis would of been better!!
Really REALLY disappointed in LV as the choice.
Think about the regions of the country you HAVEN'T been - the deep South (Savannah, GA), the Southwest (Tucscon, Phoenix, Tempe), the Northwest (Portland, Seattle). And Whole Foods is even in most of those cities, if you're still tied to them from an advertising POV.
LV is known as an "outpost" destination - chefs have their original restaurants elsewhere, and when they decide to "go global", Vegas is usually one of the stops to open in a hotel.
Come on producers - think of a REAL food city that has many different, interesting marketplaces for next time!
