Another day, another bagel hybrid to add to your bucket list. Are you ready for the Oreo Overload bagel? What it is: a vanilla-chocolate swirl bagel topped with cream cheese—but not just any kind of cream cheese. We're talking cookies-and-cream cream cheese. And, of course, there are whole Oreo cookies in there too. Where can you get this unholy thing? At the Bagel Nook in Freehold, N.J. And probably everywhere else too, soon enough.
"We're sweet-tooth people, and it's a sweet-tooth town," Alex Berkowitz, who owns and runs the shop along with his parents, told Today. "We blow through them, and can't keep enough of our specialty bagels in stock. We bake them all day long." Part of the pay-off, according to the Berkowitzes, is the reaction people have when they take their first bite.
"Whenever people order it, I peer over to see their expressions," said Alex's mother, Stacy. "Their reaction is so important to us: Is it good? They're always like, 'Oh my God, it's crazy good!'"
In case you're wondering how much this cookie-bread-cheese wonder will run you, it sells for $5.75. Fans outside of N.J. can look into scoring some on the shop's website; the store ships outside the state.
But you might want to try to stop by in person, because...Oreo pancakes. Yup, they serve those too.
