Celebrities—either they love getting married again and again (and sometimes again), or they stay away from the institution altogether.
Here are seven stars who really have no interest in having a big day filled with traditional nonsense, cakes, and signing stuff that binds you to one person for the rest of your life. No thanks.
Of course there’s Leonardo DiCaprio, 40, but why would that guy get married? He will not be treated like a caged animal. He picks through blonde models like Jelly Beans, and he’s a cool, rich movie star who has no time for any woman who has the nerve to age. Serious question. Do you think he’s ever seen cellulite? Like, does he know what that is? No, right? So it looks like he’s going to Clooney it until his Amal comes along.
Last time we checked Leo was dating Nina Agdal, a 24-year-old Danish model whose casual look is this. If I made that pose on the beach, the paramedics would be there in under two minutes to see if I had thrown my back out.
Moving on, funnyman Ricky Gervais isn’t afraid of commitment like some people (see above.) He’s been in a relationship with his partner Jane Fallon for over 30 years, and has said they both have no plans to tie the knot. He’s just an animal loving atheist who has no time for stupid rules.
Another committed yet marriage phobic guy is Jon Hamm. The Mad Men star dated longtime girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt for 16 years, before they broke up, then reunited. Though reports said she wanted kids and he didn’t, it didn’t seem like marriage was that important to them.
Then there’s Oprah. She may have faaaaaaaaavorrrite thinnnnnngs, but marriage isn’t one of them. she met her low-key love Stedman Graham in 1986, and while they were engaged at one point, Oprah decided to marry her money instead. Kidding, but she wasn’t interested in giving someone half if it didn’t work out. Now they both live rich and happy in California, where Oprah even cooks for him. Here she is, thinking about money.
Benicio Del Toro thought if he got married, it would quickly follow with a divorce. He also didn’t want kids. But that all changed after a hookup with Rod Stewart’s daughter Kimberly, who gave birth to his daughter Delilah in 2011.
Charlize Theron also gets cold feet when it comes to wearing a wedding gown. She dated Irish actor Stuart Townsend for nine years before breaking it off in 2010. in 2015, she called off her engagement with Sean Penn, but denied ghosting him to get out of the relationship.
And Sopranos star Edie Falco has never married, though that didn’t stop her from becoming a mom. The actress has two adopted children, Anderson and Macy.
