These Girls Instagrammed an Epic Vacation — Until They Got Busted for Smuggling $22 Million in Cocaine

Party foul.

Two twentysomething Canadian women were having the vacation of their lives, and sharing envy-inspiring snaps on social media from their baller journey around the world. Now they are looking at life in prison in Australia after the Instagramming pair was caught with cocaine with a street value of $22 million in their suitcases.

The women were on the last stop of a long, luxury cruise on the MS Sea Princess, which takes 2,000 passengers on stops from Southampton in the U.K. to Sydney — at the ticket cost of about $15,000 per passenger.

The ship had just arrived back at Sydney harbour Sunday following nearly two months of the once-in-a-lifetime cruise experience for those on board. But more than just the typical reentry buzz kill, the women faced border agents, the Australian Federal Police, and sniffing dogs. The waiting authorities been tipped off by both Canadian and American intel. It was the largest bust in a ship or plane in Australia's history.

In all, authorities discovered 200 pounds of cocaine. But that part didn’t end up on Instagram.
