Last night, the CFDA Awards took place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. The place was packed with celebrities and the biggest names in fashion, but there was one guest who seemed to make all the others just a wee bit star-struck.
Exhibit A: Model Jourdan Dunn had a mild freak-out upon meeting her (imaginary) best friend on the red carpet.
But the whole room bowed to Beyoncé's power when she was officially given the evening's Fashion Icon award.
Stylist Rachel Zoe captured part of Queen Bey's speech, and also seemed in awe of being mere feet from the icon. In her speech, Bey perfectly summed up the artistry of fashion design. "You all are fairy godmothers and magicians, sculptors, and sometimes even our therapists," she told the crowd of designers.
And indeed, Beyoncé's sparkling look gave her a magical aura of...boss (that's a look, right?) To accept her prize, Bey wore a crystal-flecked, pinstripe suit by Givenchy with a wide-brim hat that recalls a look in her "Formation" video.
This isn't the first time Bey has worn Givenchy this summer. She's also been wearing a glittering bodysuit from the label in recent Formation World Tour concerts. And, if you enjoy singing along to "Lemonade" (guilty), you'll know that Bey's generally "so reckless" when she rocks that Givenchy dress.
