In just over a day since masked gunmen tied up Kim Kardashian in her Paris apartment and robbed her of more than $10 million in jewels, various questions and theories have emerged as to what really happened. Why wasn't her bodyguard Pascal Duvier there to protect her? Conspiracy theorists have even asked whether the whole thing was a PR stunt. (Many high-profile celebs have been quick to shut down doubters and haters who've come with baseless claims.)
But now there's a new theory circulating: Was this whole thing an inside job? Sources are saying that bizarre and terrifying event reeks of police involvement.
Sources involved in the case told TMZ that neither the police force nor the Kardashian family think it was a coincidence that Kim's bodyguard Pascal was out at a club protecting sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner when the gunmen showed up and broke in to her residence at the No Address Hotel. They think the perpetrators must have been tipped off.
There was just a small window of time during which the crime could have happened when Kim was vulnerable and not protected — so the family is for sure that there was a chain of informants making it possible for criminals to strike precisely in that narrow timeframe. Parisian authorities are looking into it.
Kim's former security provider Steve Stanulis agrees with the theory. He told Page Six, “I would say it’s either an inside job or publicity stunt. That hotel is so secure, somebody must have tipped them off that she was alone inside, or shown them a way in.”
