The Wayne’s World Car and its Built-In Licorice Dispenser Just Sold at Auction at a Surprising Price

The lucky buyer better know every single word of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Looking for a new ride to perform your Queen sing-alongs? Searching for a car that can attract a few Baberham Lincolns? Just need something to cruise around in with your friends on Friday nights in Aurora, IL? Did all of these references make sense to you?

If you answered yes to the above, you’ll be excited, or possibly disappointed, to learn that the 1976 AMC Pacer customized and driven for Wayne’s World (pictured below) was just sold at auction, and it looks as good as ever (assuming you have a soft spot for flame decals).

The baby-blue ride comes with a few modifications from its original factory hardware, including extra supports to hold cameras during filming, modified rear wheelhouses to fit speaker boxes, and most important of all, a hole drilled in the roof to create Garth’s infamous licorice dispenser (picture below). Schwing!

The owner of the Pacer took extensive steps to keep the car as true to its film version as possible, stating that “the only part of the restoration not true to the movie are the upgraded speakers and stereo.”

Despite its brush with fame, the car sold for only $37,000, which doesn’t seem all that expensive considering the renovations and care that went in to its restoration.

We guess not everyone thinks a built-in licorice dispenser is as excellent as we do.

But for whoever jumped on the deal and rode off with this bad boy, we have just one thing to say to you:
