We're Drooling Over This Phenomenal Penthouse Perk

It brings new meaning to "ready to wear."

Packing can be a whole stressful mess — especially when high-fashion dressing is required on the other end — so a pre-curated hotel closet sounds like a frequent traveler's fantasy. Make that: a fantasy realized.

The Surrey hotel in New York City is now offering suitcase-less travel for those who book its penthouse. Yup, you can leave the whole Louis Vuitton trunk at home, because if you spend about $5,000 booking the posh crash pad (that's the starting point), high-end boutique Fivestory will stock your closet in advance, filling the boudoir depending on your itinerary, style, and how many shoe changes are necessary.

As part of the offering, penthouse guests are greeted by a closet full of of customized workout gear, cocktail dresses, athleisure, and more — including sparkly accessories upon arrival.

The closet full of items for guests to borrow is included with the penthouse booking cost. As well, each guest who books also gets a $1,000 credit to spend on wardrobe selections to be billed and shipped directly. (Consider items like $530 Bermuda shorts, a $325 Charlotte Olympia phone case, or a $135 sports bra).

In addition to the curated closet, the stay comes with pastries from Café Boulud, a chilled bottle of Veuve Clicquot, and The Surrey's Signature No. 20 Candle, along with a $50 credit towards treatments at Cornelia Spa.

We're told the concept comes from on-demand direct shopping experiences like Rent the Runway — but this one is for keeps, if guests desire.

Art curator Claire Distenfeld started Fivestory and the partnership because the airlines kept losing her luggage. So she turned those travel nightmares into this absolute travel dream
