Lots of celebrities make a big to-do about their diets and all the various vices they've given up. But the truth is most celebs, like most humans, eat junk food (from greasy fast food to processed snacks) constantly. We dug around to find out which foods some of our favorite celebrities consider their guilty pleasures, and to determine the snacks that are mentioned most frequently. Below, the deeply unscientific—but revealing—results:
No big shock here—after all who doesn’t love pizza? What is surprising though is how many celebrities don’t just enjoy a good slice; they absolutely fawn over it. In our thoroughly unscientific research, pizza came out a clear winner, tied only with fried chicken (and offshoots like buffalo wings). Here's just a small sample of the pizza-addicted celebs we found: Mariah Carey calls it her one cheat food. Ashton Kutcher, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Lea Michelle are all notable pizzaholics. But the crown for biggest pizza fan has to go, unsurprisingly, to Jennifer Lawrence, who loves pizza so much she even created some abomination she calls a pizza chili sandwich. (To make it worse, she says she created this while completely sober.) What can we say? Girl loves ‘za.
Again, we’d have an easier time listing off people who don’t love fried chicken—but celebs' fervor over a well-crisped leg is out of this world. Queen Beyoncé loves it so much that even back in 2004 she admitted Popeye’s had given her a card for free food for life (though she said she’s never used it because she feels too embarrassed). Scarlett Johansson is so addicted to wings she once predicted, “You’ll have to roll me down the red carpet next time you see me.” Snoop Dogg loves fried chicken so much he said he would have to buy Roscoe’s Chicken N Waffles to keep it alive after its parent company filed for bankruptcy in May; and Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr tries to eat healthy but admits she can’t resist fried chicken, and doesn’t plan to any time soon. “That’s my big weakness, and there’s nothing wrong with that.” You go girl.
Lady Gaga is all of us: She's not above scarfing hot dogs or chowing on whatever other junky treats are on offer. But cheeseburgers are what she actually craves when she's eating a virtuous (sad) salad. Fellow pop star Katy Perry also has a well-documented obsession with cheeseburgers, going as far as sneaking some in to this year’s Golden Globes awards:
Sticky Toffee Pudding
The British dessert known as sticky toffee pudding is essentially sponge cake covered in toffee sauce and served with vanilla custard or ice cream. Sound delicious? Obviously. That’s probably why it’s the go-to treat for British icons like Kate Middleton and formerly-fake-British ones like Madonna. Want to pretend you’re a member of the British royal family? Check out the recipe for Middleton’s favorite version of sticky toffee pudding here.
When he isn’t busy travelling to Miami on court order or quitting Instagram, Biebs has quite the appetite for Swedish Fish, even including them in past tour riders. More recently though he seems content just using them to test out his comedic chops.
However, Britney Spears might rein supreme above all other chocoholics. During a chat with Stylist, she unleashed a laundry list of chocolate obsessions, admitting “I love Scores…with the caramel in the middle, and every once in a while if I’m really hungry then a Snickers bar is good. And M&Ms are great, Hershey’s Whoppers are great, Rasinets…Twixes are great too. And the new Hershey’s Cookies & Cream too.” She’s not wrong.
Flamin’ Hot Cheetos
They’re a personal favorite of Rihanna, but hardly her only indulgence. As she revealed to Ellen, her rider includes Oreos, Golden Grahams, Cup-o-Noodles, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, regular Cheetos (“for when I’m tired of hot Cheetos”), red and white wine, vodka, soda, Frappuccinos and garlic olives. As she explained “I just like to be prepared. You never know what mood you’re going to be in.”
Truer words have never been spoken.
