Sarah Jessica Parker's Latest Fashion Project Takes Her to an Unexpected Location
The star's first standalone boutique is coming. And nope, it won't be in that city.
Sarah Jessica Parker's been keeping a big secret. The Sex and The City icon just announced she's opening her first-ever stand-alone boutique for her fashion line, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker. It's happening soon too — the store will be open next Friday.
Parker's collection of so-very-Carrie Bradshaw heels and accessories has been sold at retailers like Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's and Net-a-Porter since 2013. But we're dying to see exactly what a store designed by Sarah Jessica Parker herself would look like.
And if you're assuming the SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker flagship is going to be on Fifth Avenue, Parker's got another surprise. The gal who Andy Cohen called an "iconic New Yorker" isn't opening her store in New York City at all. Instead, SJP's setting up shop right outside Washington, D.C. at soon-to-open resort MGM National Harbor. It is just an Amtrak train away.
Here's what we know so far: the boutique will open to the public on December 9th, and it's going to be open from 10am to 11pm. There's no sneak-peek image yet, just that construction photo. But expect to shop shoes, handbags, accessories and the new SJP LBD little black dress line, with prices ranging from $30 to $695. And Parker wrote on Instagram that she's been "curating a very special collection" for the store.
"Opening a standalone store has long been a dream we have been working towards and we feel truly privileged to be doing so with the expertise, guidance and support of our brilliant partners at MGM Resorts," Parker said in a statement. "It's been very exciting to have been involved in all steps of the process, from on-site construction visits to the actual layout and design of our boutique. I'm honored to be included in this massive undertaking and I'm very much looking forward to celebrating in December. Because perhaps then I will believe it's real."
