Watching show after show and being a fellow Williamsburgnite, I have mixed feelings about these parties. I have been to quite of few parties and unfortunately, what has been produced on the show is really below par. Roble seems to have the kitchen worked out with a level of professionalism necessary for New York City. However, Jasmine needs to be an apprentice for a long time before doing this caliber of parties and events. The parties exhibited on the show appear to be unrefined and unprofessional. I assume this show is to generate exposure for a new company, but to do so right, Roble needs to expect the caliber of performance, similar to the kitchen, to apply for the front of the house. Jasmine tries, but in no way can offer what is necessary for Roble to showcase his true talent.
I think Chef Roble and his catering staff are amazing, talented and ambitious...with a little quirky good fun thrown in. However, Jasmine's performance has been totally sub-par...Everyone has a learning curve and her mistakes would be more palatable if she would act professionally and try to remedy the problem and address the client's concerns. It is her job! Believe me, I have two big brothers and I would bust my ass to make sure their business succeded and I would learn to correct what I could on the spot, appease and schmooze the client so they still walked away with an good overall impression of the experience that the food is top-notch and the "front house" isn't perfect, but will bend over backward trying to make a client happy. Jasmine has to stop playing the "wounded baby sister" and step up to the plate.
Thank goodness we are successful in our own rights and in very different businesses.
