Things That Make Courtney Uncomfortable

Courtney comments on some of the more awkward moments from this week's episode.

"Let's Get Uncomfortable"

Well, who's awkward? (Raising hand!)

If there was one common theme of this episode it was: Things That Make Courtney Uncomfortable. Did you sense it?! Ugh, I was squirming on more than one occasion!

First, let’s start with the Matt situation. Quite frankly, when slapped in the face with an ex in such close quarters, your only mature choice is to face the fear head on and to pull on your big girl panties…and I think I did a pretty good job, would you agree? I was bothered with how awkward Matt seemed too…all around it was a "pink elephant in the middle of the room" moment for everyone. I mean, did you see the looks on my girlfriends’ faces?! All in all, I was happy for that encounter to be done with, but unfortunately, I knew that wasn't the last I would see of Matt, and there's more to come of him in the next couple of weeks…

Another uncomfortable moment happened with the hemorrhoid cream…but heck, it worked! Who would've thought?! Those gays…they just know all the good tricks to looking amazing, don't they?! Thanks, Daylon!

Next…oh goodness…the blind date with Jeff. First and foremost, I must admit that Jeff is one of the most GORGEOUS men I have ever seen. Seriously, HOT -- like freakishly attractive -- and uber handsome men tend to make me shy. Secondly, let me say that blind dates are not my thing. Actually, dating in general isn't my thing. Maybe it’s just me, but sitting at a dinner table while I am eating and drinking with a stranger just doesn't sound like a smashing good time?! In all honesty, the entire night made me incredibly nervous (as you could see), and what do I do when I get nervous? Well, I talk too damn much…and that's exactly what happened…I talked, Jeff listened. The end.

But did you notice the only thing that didn't make me nervous?! Yep, it’s anything fashion related. Whether it was my meeting with Amy Jain, the CEO of Bauble Bar, and talking about a jewelry collaboration or browsing the racks of clothes for a photo shoot, there is something about the world of fashion that calms me. It’s me in my element. So does that mean fashion is my Xanax? Perhaps! It all reminds me of Marilyn Monroe quote: "Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world."

And that's exactly what I plan on doing…well, sort of.

I always love yall’s feedback about the show, so don't forget to follow me on Twitter @thecourtneykerr and my style blog, "What Courtney Wore" at thecourtneykerr.com!

Matt, Mood Boards, and Marfa

Courtney explains how she made the best of all the stressful situations this week.

"Let's Just Make the Most of It"

When it comes to life and rough situations, my mother taught me one valuable lesson: MAKE THE MOST OF IT… And in tonight's episode of Courtney Loves Dallas, you see me do just that in several rough situations.

Let's walk through them, shall we?!

Rough Situation #1: The Matt Drama

Exes really know how to suck the life out of you, don't they?! And when it comes to playing with your emotions, they are quite genius. At the end of last week's episode, y'all were left with seeing me walk away from Matt Nordgren after he told me that we had "nothing." And I was happy with that decision. I had gone to dinner with the attitude of "let's MAKE THE MOST OF IT," and when I felt defeated, I exited. And I could've left it that. But one would think that when he chased me and then called over, and over, and over again that I would crumble and be putty in his hands again…BUT NO. Not only was I emotionally exhausted, but I was embarrassed… embarrassed that I hadn't seen him before for what he really was: Matt was all talk and no action. I had given him years of my life and I was done. D.O.N.E. And at that point there was nothing left to do than say goodbye.

Rough Situation #2: Bauble Bar Presentation

When it comes to work, I am typically great at leaving my personal life at the door, but coming off the heels of the Matt drama, I was flustered and overwhelmed, and in over my head…but thank God I hired my new assistant, Shannon, at the perfect time! She was really able to step in and help me reign it all in and stay organized for my big Bauble Bar presentation! I had been asked to create "mood boards" to present the collection via Skype (mind you I had no idea what a "mood board" was and still, quite frankly, have no idea!) but there was no way I could've made them all in such a short time frame (mind you: Mom's surgery recovery, the Matt dinner, and the Bauble Bar presentation were all within about 72 hours!). Despite my lack of creativity and artistic ability, I was hoping I could talk enough to distract them from the mess that was my "mood boards"…God might not have blessed me with the ability to draw, but he certainly blessed me with the ability to talk…so what else is there to do than MAKE THE MOST of what you've got! And that's exactly what I did, and thankfully, it worked!

Rough Situation #3: Girls Trip to Marfa

After the hellish week I had (Mom's surgery, Matt dinner, Bauble Bar stress, etc.), a girls’ trip with my best friends was exactly what I needed to revitalize and get my head back on straight -- good idea, Tori! Marfa was a small town in Texas that I had seen pictures and read stories about, but honestly when we got there, I felt like I had dragged the girls 8 hours away for nothing. Thankfully, despite the bicycle debacle and the awkward dinner, the Prada exhibit was the icing on the cake to make everything better! And honestly, I had my 3 best friends, no responsibilities, and no babies, so it was the perfect opportunity to, yep, you guessed it: MAKE THE MOST OF IT!

So there's only 2 episodes left of Courtney Loves Dallas, but still so much more to come! Stay tuned to see how the Bauble Bar collaboration turns out…find out about another job that I get to add to my already busy plate…plus, see what happens when things get heated during a fight with Tori!
