Domo Arigato Mr. Mugatu
Episode 3: Bravotv.com's Associate Editor tries to solve the Miyake mystery and discusses knitting in the round.
Hola deal hunters! It's a new day at Second Time Around, even if the coat hangers aren't cooperating. Who thought Tara was going to break out and have "A no more wire hanger moment" in the middle of the store? Just me? Moving on. . .
A Miyake Mystery
We open with a pair of Scooby Doo villains dropping by the store with an original Issey Miyake suit. The suit is pretty amazing, if not an incredible re-imagination of Mugatu's outfit from Zoolander. It's appears to be knitted in the round which, what? Why aren't grannies churning out delightful things like that? I would be far more interested in getting that for Christmas than woolen socks.
Apparently no one is, because according to Simon Doonan this piece is one of a kind, so much so that this little number was most likely lifted from the showroom. And to think that person wouldn't have gotten away with it if it weren't for those crazy kids at STA -- just kidding. No hard feelings, the piece was donated to the museum, to be enjoyed by the masses who see the true joy in Asian knits.
Christian Dior Bracelet Flow
When Ambria gets sad she likes to hold clothes, and there is nothing more comforting to hold than a Christian Dior bracelet. When I get sad I hold my Forever 21 shirts and then cry more (JK, I love my Forevs 21 threads). Don't worry about that mean call from your boyfriend, let the relationship expert and her beautiful baubles comfort you. I think there's no better way to recover from being an "open, loving person" or a "doormat" than by wearing a red leather jacket and a Christian Dior cuff.
Yeah, I'd be right over that guy with a jacket like this, and I think he'd be pretty sore about it.
Vera Wang for Singletons
I just want the record to show that I would move to Europe with that dress, too. Also, I hope STA didn't spent the $1 they got off that dress in one place.
Next week the gang takes on a podiatrist with a plethora of shoes. And the week after that it's a proctologist with a lot of pants (just kidding about the second part).
