Despite the street drinking, the STA staff stillmanaged to pull some sales together in their final episode, and so when a cuff comes in that could have been worn by the one and only Coco Chanel, the gals get excited.
Unfortunately, it turned out not to be the real deal (or at least, no one can prove that it was). But it's still a banging piece of jewelry, and STA accepts it with open arms. Then the gang is treated to a tour of the Elle accessories closet. Once upon a time I was an accessories intern at a fashion magazine, and I can tell you those closets are as splendid as this one appeared. Imagine all of the best jewelry, bags, shoes, and what nots crammed into the tiniest amount of square footage you can get, and that's about right. Be still my heart just thinking about it. Le sigh.
And that's our season. What did you think fashion lovers? What was your favorite part of the show -- the crazy clothes or the crazier sellers? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
I just don't know how bright these women can be, really. First of all I hardly think it is necessary for Tara to keep referring to "THE Coco Chanel." The woman was the definition of unique, so how many other Cocos does she think we might confuse her with? Secondly, short of exhuming her body and submitting it to some pretty rigorous (sic) cross-examination there was no realistic expectation of determining whether that cuff ever graced THE Coco's arm. That said, I cannot believe that just having Anne Slowey cast her eye over it was all those dames could come up with to investigate the provenance of the piece. It was both distinctive and gorgeous. Surely a better way of authenticating it would have been to take it to the jewelry curator at the Metropolitan Museum. In fact the museum should be number one on their speed dial, not editors from magazines or window dressers emeritus from Barneys, sweet as Simon is. These babes seem like a collection of pretty dim bulbs to me.
WOW! Sorry I read justjoans post! Yikes! I don't agree at all! I LOVE the show & my favorite part is the clothes! I salivate! I am a HUGE admirer of THE Coco Chanel & didn't seem inappropriate to me at all. Looking forward to a second season with you folks! Job well done! Great television! Pat on the back, high 5 & standing ovation!
