Jeff Lewis

Jeff Lewis reveals what he's grateful for, and gives his take on this week's episode.

on Sep 30, 20090

The last year has been a challenging transition from being my own boss to working with clients. When I met Brad and Seana Sherwood, I was really excited to work with them. They are interesting people with a beautiful unique property. I found them eccentric, but I liked that about them. As time went on, I started to change my opinion. It's not that they are not interesting or likable, but I began to realize that they are extraordinarily indecisive. I came up with a lot of great ideas for their home that they seemed to really respond too. The problem was, they never committed to anything. They often talked of their other home in the Hollywood Hills and how much they missed it. I started to get nervous, because I realized I had hours and hours invested in a project that may never commence. My suspicions were correct, because after 7 months, the only thing I have done at Skytop is the outdoor lighting installation. My commission on that job was $1400, of which I personally paid $250 to repair their broken sprinklers. With all my time and my employees time, I figure I lost thousands of dollars on that job.

Watching the show tonight broke my heart. A year ago this month I had to have our 19 yr old cat put " to sleep". It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I'm 65 years old & I cried like a baby. My heart goes out to you.

I love Flipping Out. It's real, it's exciting, its humorous, and I love Gage. I wish we could see more of Jeff and Gage on a personal basis. Like going out to dinner, or just the two of them at home.

Jeff: I admire your work and your OCD as I am OCD as well!! But, I need your advice. In 2003, we were making $800K gross per year then a car wreck which messed up my left shoulder and elbow. 6 months later,I was attacked by a buck deer extensive injuries;6 months after that my husband broke his neck in a fall. Needless to say the money went down. We invested in property for the past 35 years and we have had to let these properties go for what we owe on them because I cannot make the money I used to. We still have our home which is 2900sqft downstairs and 1600 up; all heated and cooled and sitting on 40 acres.Barn is 67x120 with 16 stalls and asphalt aisles. Hay barn is solid steel quansit; shop is 35x35. We want to get 465K but cannot figure out the proper way to sell. We cannot physically work like we did and donot want to lose it but would like to downsize to something we can take care of. What can we do? Pastures are clean. We had Missouri Foxtrotter horse ranch with world champion blood lines (from 2005). We gave away 32 horses to customers that had bought multiple horses from us in the past so they have good homes. We got $2000-6000 for the same horses 2 years ago. Thank you.

Jeff, you are truly a amazing business man! You are so smart! I enjoy watching your show! (Not only because you went to Mater Dei and I am from Santa Ana! hee hee.) I love the interior design in your home and the other homes you have touched! Works of Art! I wish I can afford to be your intern!

PLEASE tell your new assistant (sister to your realtor/sister-in-law) to quit chawing on that gum!

And, maybe Ryan could PRIVATELY apologize? He can't lose face to the world! I'm betting he really is sorry and doesn't really want to lose your friendship!

Jeff - you and your crew are in my house daily. I'm absolutely addicted to your show. I love the houses. I've been reading the blogs, too and have learned so much about contractors, how to run a business & be a really up front & professional. I teach US History and am always looking for quick to the point clips I can show my students about "what employers are looking for in employees out in the markeplace." You've had several spots in the shows where you told what you expected in an employee. Would you do that again? That's what I love so much about you - - you say exactly what you mean and get the rif raff out of the way & get things done like they should be done. That would be why you have one of the MOST Successful series on 800 channels right now today. I'll be looking for that clip . . .and yes hurry up and get a big hard bound Book PRINTED WITH ALL THE EXTERIORS & INTERIORS OF ALL THE HOUSES you & the crew have put together so that I can look at them over and over again. I guarantee it will ba a #1 seller. Get it done. hjm

I love watching Jeff and the family he has created! He deserves it, from what we can see you are a gentile person at heart. Plus, you love animals and yours are extremely special. Love the show and we hate most of this new reality crap but Flipping Out is an Adventure!

Hi Jeff,

I think you have a great show. I have always agreed with you on the decisions that you make. I dont think people realize how tough it is. I had to do a remodel on my home, I got sick of everyone riping me off so I did it myself. Although, I have a hard time figuring out what Jenni does, it seems her main job is entertaining you. Anyways, I love the show and keep up the good work.

Jeffy! Let me just say that the minute I watched your show I was hooked!!! I bragged about you to my fiance until he finally decided to watch the show. His respond to your first show was: "no wonder you like him, he's a male version of you." Love, Love, Love, and Love you!!! BRAVO, PLEASE BRING FLIPPING OUT BACK! WE NEED IT!!!

Jeff I love you, you are the funniest, most talented.. but I think you are being harsh with Ryan. By reading Ryan's blog, its clear to me that he has not doing anything wrong behind your back. He explains step by step what you have said he does and replies to your comments. Everything makes sense and I dont feel he is a bad guy in any way. Maybe you are a bit jealous of his success. Thats okay too, we all have those feelings at some point.. but you all should reconcile soon. You do look sad without Ryan, dont make a problem where there is any. Take care, Luv you!!!!

I enjoy your show so much and think you are awesome. BUT I find it disrespectful of Zoila to tell you to shut up at times. Perhaps she should learn that she is after all an employee. Even though you share a close relationship I still find it disconcerting.

Jeff,

Aloha!

Love you and love the show. . . but please be sweeter to Zoila! It hurt to see her cry. She is such a kind-hearted woman. I would love to see you give Zoila a big hug and tell her that you appreciate her.

Those scenes with you and little Chloe were priceless-they made me laugh so hard that I cried. If I ever have a bad day, I just think about those scenes again, and I start to laugh outloud.

Best, Leilani

Dear Jeff,

I feel your frustration with Flad and other contractors/handymen. I own a construction/handyman company and have for years. I have decided 99% are flakes. Good news; I am newly married to the perfect carpenter. He does the majority of the work for my company. He is fabulous. I truly feel you would work well with one another. I would love to have the opportunity for the two of you to meet. You have my email. We are located out of Ventura County. The drive is no problem! Hope to hear from you!!!!!!

You are right you need to know when to cut a client, you also need to figure out your hourly rate. This rate should be variable-consulting,planning,accessorie shopping and even have a different rate for different projects. You are in the business to make money and please the client. Also I love the show.

Jeff, I am your biggest fan. I have watch your so since the first season and I am hooked. I just get you. I would love to be apart of your team and would get you enough brown salsa to bath in -lol.

I am sorry about the problems with Ryan. If it is any consolation, I too would be very hurt by his actions. You deserve a better friend than that. I believe in Karma tho.

On a last note, Would you ever consider dating Chaz ? It seems to me that you two would balance each other well. Chaz's oversized heart and your black heart and all. It does seem like there is some chemistry there. Do not settle for anyone until they are an asset & make your life easier & happier. I am happily single myself and love it.

Jeff, Take care of Zoila, I just love her !!!! Her feelings were really hurt, Jett knew what he was doing. Zoila really does take care of you Jeff and has stood by your side through thick and thin. You know what I mean... Your show is great, I am very OCD myself and very forward so keep up the great work and I'm a long-time fan... Love ya, Barbara

Jeff, you are hysterical! The interaction between you and Zoila is THE funniest part of the show! You 2 have a fantastic sense of humor! I am dying right now watching Zoila trt to get off early for her hair appointment... and yes, Spirit does stink! Your "brisk" exit from her "flower beds" was awesome! BUT... you are KILLING ME?US!!!...PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let us in on your love life... you are so hot and we never hear ANYthing about your love life... what's up with that?

A very happy veiwer!

Hi Jeff, I wanted to write and tell you I think you are one of the most entertaining people currently on television. I can tell underneath that hard, anal neurotic appearing exterior you really do care about people. A lot of really sensitive people are just that way! I also love your wicked sense of humor! I died when I watched the episode with Chloe and her "Girls Gone Wild" responses! I also love that you really care about your pets. It seems all your dogs are mutts and most likely rescues. You just seem to me someone who is opinionated, not afraid to speak your mind and is not interested in everyone thinking you are "Nice". That is what makes you interesting and hence you have interesting people around you! Good Luck with your new business ventures and from what it looks like a possible adoption. I hope you will consider adopting an older child who really needs a family. I think you have the potential to be a Great Dad! Peace Out, Love In, Lisa

Hi Jeff, I absolutely love your show and your attitude! I know a lot of people are probably put off by you at times, but those are the people who do not have high expectations of themselves or others. I think you and I would be great business partners...and friends since I would give you sh*t back...like Zoila! Your sense of humor is great....keep me laughing!

Jeff, You may want to consider the eco-friendly portable toilet that Spirit could use instead of the side yard. That way it can be more sanitary and she can keep her home, and everyone wins.

Hi Jeff, First of all, I wanna say, "I lOve U!" U are sooooo funny and don't think u are a hard boss at all! Dear Jeff,

I love you, your hilarious. But, you need to know that you can be obnoxious because your so cute--but, you won't always be this cute and some of the bad things that happen to you might be because of your negative energy not other peoples.

Negative energy attracts negative energy.
