In Memoriam

Jeff honors Spirit's memory.

Oct 14, 2009

I feel terrible about what happened to Spirit and I feel for Chaz who has been very hurt by her passing. He truly believes that Spirit was a sign from God or the universe, sent to guide him to the Cole compound.

The Cole property has served Chaz well over the years. The equity he has built in the property helped him to finance his Wen hair product business which has grown into an extremely successful company. Chaz is a very generous man, and with his success he has helped a lot of people and donated to many charitable organizations.

I regret joking about Spirit living on the property, but I did express genuine concern over her safety and well-being. I was also concerned about the reputation of what has become a prestigious high-end salon.

Maybe Spirit was sent to help Chaz find the Cole property. Chaz found, purchased, began renovating, and ultimately has had great success. If so, Spirit's mission was complete and maybe has moved on in another form/place to help/guide another person. There are "angels and good spirits among us." I hope so at least. The fact that you were willing to help Spirit with better living accomadations is what matters, not the fact that it never came to fruition. Love the show!

You are an honest and giving person. I have lived in many large cities and people approaching my car or me for money is scary. Jenni is almost forty and needs to be a realist. The issue with Chaz and you placing Spirit in a better location was very humane on your part. Everybody seemed to be dissing you, yet Chaz allowed that poor person to live in squalor conditions. Keep being true to yourself Jeff.

Jeff, I am a very fan of your forget me if I do not write well Iam a mexican senora (Mrs) that wach your show you are so good on what you do, but sometimes you are so stric with the people aroung you like your worker in the house,I thing you need to be more sensative with the ladies we are more sensatives about thing that you mens do not get.So I have a subgestion to tell you about Zoila if she is not doing her job like she sopost to do tel her in private that she is there as housekeper and that she needs to perform her job as it is,if she takes to many breks and take off when ever she wants then you have to tell her that she neesd to do her job raigth, also when she tells you to Shout up I thing is not nice of her to be unrespetfall. Please someone explaing her, that by using that expresion in ingles is very rude and havy in espanol is deferent it better if she uses be cuite or othre word,i hope you understand my massege,Thank You so much and I LOVE YOUR SHOW AND YOU.......

You wanted to do more for her than Chaz even did. You wanted to build her a "real" shelter with a bed and shower. With Chaz' means, why didn’t he do that? I don’t understand it. Just letting someone sleep outside on your property isn’t very noble to me. He could have taken care of and helped her by making sure she had clean water each day and food. Disappointed in this in this episode. Wasn’t impressed with Chaz' so called generosity. Seems to be he let her stay to keep his "good luck" as he called it. Not blaming him for her death, but come on, he didn’t do anything for her. who would let someone live on their property in the conditions she did?! Kudu’s to you Jeff for thinking about giving her real shelter, etc- chaz didn’t.

Jeff,

I adore you. All quirks aside, it is evident that you are a good man with a very big heart and an ultra riot. The good karma is there. How can it not be, as you are all good people. Things will turn around. Life is tough for most of us these days.

Much love and respect for Chaz. What a beautiful human being.

Rest in peace Spirit.

Jeff, I would like to say...I enjoy your show and how entertaining it is. First let me say that Jenni, is without a doubt your right-hand-girl. I am 64 years old and have worked in construction for many, many years. I too run projects and am hands-on on every phase of the project. I am a one-girl office. Handling All insurance, General Liability and Worker's Comp., MSDS, Safety Programs, Accts. Payable, Accts. Receivable, All Banking, Payroll, etc. My Boss, tried telling me things to do at the start, but soon I was doing all and more of his things. I learned that he could not do without me because I do not miss work, I go above and beyand my job. This all said, be thankful for what you have.

It was an interesting episode Jeff and showed a side of you few have seen before. I think.

Honor Spirit by dedicating the Garden to her... she's there anyway.

Jeff, First of all, just loving your show. You and the team are awesome. Also, I am sorry about Spirit. That was a touching episode. By the way, are you posting your blogs during work hours? OMG!!!! If so, GET TO WORK, QUIT SLACKING... :-)

Your heart was in the right place. I work with homeless daily and I just have to look into their eyes to know them beyond their outward appearance. Some times it is easier than other times:) I love Zoila and the show the show too!

It was a sad episode with the passing of Spirit. I'm sure that Chaz let her continue to be the "free" spirit he found her as and allowed her to live the way she wanted to. Who knows, maybe he did try to improve her living situation in the beginning, but she didn't want any help??? Anyway Chaz protected her and let her continue to live as she wanted to and I can respect that.

Jeff, my daughter and I don't miss a single show. We absolutely love your humor and laugh so hard. I don't think you realize just how funny you are.

Please make up with Ryan - Life is too short.

First I just want to express my adoration the cast of Flipping Out!! Everyone is sooo F-ing hillarious especially Deb! I have literally watched the "Pleadging Allegiances" a million times! Anyways, the death of Spirit is sad like most deaths are, but I have a question...did Chaz really lie about Spirits sexuality? Thats ridiculous, but funny!

Bit of advice: Sarah is too hillarious not to have in every episode.

Stay entertaining!! Amy

Hello Jeff,

I really love you and the team of people in your office. You seem to have a good balance and I believe that is why you are so sucessful. I wish I could work for you. You have a wonderful spirit and you seem to push others to step up to the plate. I really think that's great.

I really love Zoila and Jenni. The really know how to handle you.

Love you Jeff.

Hi Jeff, I love your show, and I think you are a great guy and a great friend. We all have our idiosyncrasies, and if someone else choose not to agree with those, too bad for them, move on. I respect your individualism. You are genuine, caring, and decent. I would you assume, part of that is your up bringing. I wish you continued success, happiness, and good health. You and Jennie are a great working couple. As for Ryan, well, try to get past it, you are better than that. Maybe one day, because of your past and connection with him, you guys will work things out. Life is too short!! Focus on your career, and personal life. I will continue to enjoy your show, and look foprward to your next advewnture. Zoila rocks!!!!!

I am sure Chaz meant to do the right thing for Spirit. It was very generous of him to leave her on the property. But, in reality it wasn't the "right" thing to just leave her on the property without a bed, bathroom, etc.

Perhaps it was just stressful for him to think of a real solution. She was sleeping on the floor, without a bath, etc. But anyway, I guess thats our defense mechanism sometimes when we deal with our problems. Chaz is very compassionate and a generous person, but it just wasnt the right way to handle the situation.

Blaming Chaz or anyone for Spirits death is not the solution. As they say, some people are meant to come in your life for a reason, season, or an eternity. I do believe she came into Chaz life for a reason. I guess its like winning the lotto and holding on to your lottery ticket receipt, not moving it hoping not to jinx yourself. I could understand why Chaz didnt want to move her into a shelter or think of a better solution.

I hope that from this loss, people realize that so much more can be done for those who are less fortunate.

PS- I hope Deb is in your next episode...she had me in stiches!

I love you, Jeff Lewis. I'm with Rosie...completely fascinated by you!

Sunny

Jeff,

I laughed so much last night at your humor(o.k., the end was sad) but you are so damn funny. I love you with Zoila. We all know that you love this woman to pieces and would never hurt her feelings on purpose. Jett needs to remember he doesn't have the relationship you and Zoila have and just because you can joke with her doesn't mean it is the same with him.

LOVE, LOVE,LOVE Your Show!! I have never laughed so hard..and it's not just from watching one episode but everyone that i watch I always find myself smiling or laughing! You, Jenni/Deb, Zoila, and now the house assistant Jett are Pure Comedy + Sarcasm= My kinda've of Show! I believe I will now and forever be a fan of Flipping Out! ;-D

I love getting out of my reality hell (Jeff you are a saint compared to my Mean Girl Boss here in New Jersey) watching you all in sunny southern CALIFORNIA is very entertaining, I can always count on a good laugh from Flipping Out!

You all were kind to Spirit..really LOVE Chaz for his loyalty and kind heart no matter what anyone thought. Spirit had the security of her space and safety by staying on his property! I don't know ONE business owner that would have allowed her to stay and for so many years.

To the producers of this show: This is the type of Reality TV for Gays/Lesbians/etc. that attracts me... You taught me a few tricks re: remodeling my home.(a $15,000 project ) Thanx!

Jeff, you"d make a great Dad ...accept you better NOT make your kid wear that XXX large smock in public!!

Jenni- I am soo impressed with your people skills! What a balance for Jeff when he gets into his snitty ways...

I laugh a lot @ you guys! Keep it fun!

peace,

karolyn

It's fascinating how everything comes back to you, Jeff Lewis. Even the Karma needed from a passing Spirit! I love your self-obsessed, OCD ridden ass. You just be Y O U! Love it!!

As the mother of a de-ployed U.S marine,I can't tell you how much I enjoy your show.It helps me escape the worries that go along with having a son in the military.Keep up the good work.Kudos.

I admire your concern over Spirit. I personally don't believe in any of the "spiritual" aspects. She was just a sad homeless person. As to the human waste, does anyone remember cholera? We are what we are, no angels, no devils, just people.

As the mother of a de-ployed U.S. marine I can't tell you how nice it is to be able to escape for an hour from the worries that go along with that.Thank you for your great entertainment that you provide me each week.Enjoy the show

I love you Jeff and everyone on your show !!! You are a wonderful guy and hope you are blessed with more success, happiness, and health .. I look forward to your show every week ... I love how everyone seems to get along well in your show. Overall, you may have very strict standards, but they all seem to respect you ... You are truly a great guy. Perhaps, some ppl dont understand your sense of humor and get easily offended. A strong personality can be mistaken as a jerk. You may have some critics, but you have more fans !! I love you and you are the best thing that happened on Bravo !! Your show is a breath of fresh air. Sarah is just entertaining as well !

Hey Jeff,

God definitely broke the mold when he made you. You are one of a kind. I love your show.

You do have a big ♥! Love the show.

I love your show! It is the highlite of my week. My only complaint is that it should be on every week and on from September to May. The view weeks the show is on is not enough. Love, Love the show!!!!

Jeff, your show is fun to watch,I wish I could work for you! Thanks for the laughs.

Jeff, your show is fun to watch,I wish I could work for you! Thanks for the laughs.

Jeff, I would like to say one thing... Marry ME! You are so perfect, I absloutly love love you. I watch every episode and would love to hang a huge photo of you over my bed.:)) I admire your business savay and your sexy sense of humor. Iam only to find jealousy for not being one of the assistance, lucky enough to have you in their pressence. Guess you could call me one of your biggest fans. *****I WOULD LOVE TO BE YOUR ROOMBA*** xoxxoxo

Jeff,

Don't feel bad about what you did. I was thinking the same thing and wouldn't want to look at that situation if I was there getting a service done. Not a really great picture or thought, but it was unfortunate, especially the timing. I think you are great and love your honesty, you crack me up and I love, love, love the show. Jenni and Zoila are really great too and make for a good laugh. Your design work is beautiful. I design too but not quite that talented, ha. Hope you and Ryan work things out, I don't think you could stand not having his daughter in your life. Take Care and keep at it.

hey Jeff....i luv u, Zoila and the whole gang...i find it so touching that u refuse to let go of Zoila and your love for Jenni is evdent. Despite what you might think, you are an awesome person who can make tough and necessary decisions, meaning what you say ...and its most admirable that you care so deeply about those around u...even with your sometimes sick but awesome sense of humour...

P.s. try to work it out with Ryan..i know you are loyal and expect those you love to be loyal to you, but hey, we all make mistakes right?

come jeff give me abreak i,ll come work for you for free ....... ilove you sexy

There is nothing for you to feel ashamed about.

Jeff, I absolutely love you and I understand your shtick. I have people in my family that have OCD. It is difficult to live with, both in having it and being around someone who has it.

I can see you have a big heart. You are very loyal to those you care about. Everyone makes mistakes and even you can play apart in what has happened with Ryan.

You feel hurt by him for many reasons. Maybe you still wish you were his partner (in a personal way). I can see how you are with Chloe. You are afraid to get rejected or hurt or "screwed" so you push people away first.

I read Ryan's responses to your accusations and I think you just aren't willing to listen to what he is saying. You fee so hurt that you feel like you know the truth even if maybe you don't.

Please don't let your relationship with Ryan go. Don't miss out seeing Chloe grow up. Take a step back and talk to him again.

Best of luck to both of you!

Jeff,

It was nice to see Chaz's compassion for Spirit. If everyone were as compassionate, this world would be a far nicer, better place! I was also impressed with your solution to give Spirit a "room" of her own.

Your's is my favorite program, and I will miss seeing you and the others as this season ends. I thought you were nuts the first time I watched the show-now I LOVE you and all the people in the show! I never thought I would see such a GREAT show about Gay people on tv-but YOU have done it!

God Bless! Ric

Why is Sarah allowed to chew gum at work??

I love your show. Love all of you guys. The last 3 shows have made me cry. But you know it is life. Good things, bad things, good days, bad days. I can only wonder how hard it is to have it displayed on TV. You are a strong person, and yes Jeff you are a very nice person. Don't ever for get it. Ever, ever, ever.

Jeff,

Love your show and it is so refreshing to see someone take their job so seriously, and expects perfection from everyone. Even though you are critized the way you sometimes treat your employees, it would be a privilege to work for you based on your work ethic and constantly striving for perfection. Keep it up an I wish you great success for your company and of course the show.

You are trying so hard this year , good for you.

Love you, the team too and ZOILA....better not mess with the ZOILA or all of my friends will turn on you !

Best to everyone!

Jeff..love the show. Give Jenni some credit for her seven and a half years of service to you. Dont punish everyone for Ryans mistakes. You have to be vulnerable to be loveable. I hate that myself, but it is true. It doesnt always end in betrayl or pain. Jenni and Zoila obviosly care about you with or without the paycheck. Give them some credit for that. The world doesnt know what happens when the cameras are off, but I bet you are fabulous. Let us see it more...Not everyone is out to get ya..

I LOVE YOU JEFF LEWIS!!! YOU CAN DO NO WRONG IN MY EYES...WHAT YOU WERE GOING TO DO FOR SPIRIT...SMH...I KNOW YOU HAD ONLY HER BEST INTENTIONS..GOD BLESS..XOXO

Jeff,

I agreed 100% with you as far as removing Spirit from the property, don't feel bad she/he died. My wife has OCD, but you're the King of OCD, you and your team are a riot. My real estate team in Chicago are in stitches all the time!!

Jeff I do your job in NYC/NJ you would make a killing here!

Jeff - I can see where you're coming from on wanting Chaz's business to be as successful as possible while dealing with Spirit and the necessary accomodations. You have a heart and want to help everyone - keep on being yourself. You are a beautiful person inside and out.

You have the best show on Bravo. Your post about Spirit is great. Your comments were not cruel; and to be honest, you said what many people were thinking!

Are you looking for staff? I want to send my resume; I would love nothing more than working for you, Jenny, and Zoila!

BTW, I LOVE animals!

Jeff, I Love YOU!!! I believe everyone knows that you were not in any way making light of Spirit. YOU and JENNI keep up the great job.

Jeff, Your heart is the right place....
