Trace Lehnhoff

Trace reflects on the season, and his time spent at Jeff Lewis' office.

As season three of “Flipping Out” comes to a close, I’d like to thank all of the viewers of the show who tuned in to watch whatever drama there was unfold. My experience at the Jeff Lewis office has taught me a lot about what it is to work for someone who: has high expectations behind a driving force, may scrutinize you on a daily basis for their personal entertainment purposes, urges you to stay two steps ahead at all times, and perform and deliver at your best. One hundred percent of the time. But I feel in this industry in order to succeed, that is mostly how a successful design business is to be run.

I think it’s important to remember that even though during certain months we are filming a television show, after the cameras leave, things continue on just as they were – it is very true to life. My job is just like any other. I just happen to work for a medication-deprived, obsessive compulsive, merciless neat freak with a tendency to pick out your flaws and subject you to public humiliation daily. And I might be as crazy as the boss himself but in all honesty, I love it.
