As season three of “Flipping Out” comes to a close, I’d like to thank all of the viewers of the show who tuned in to watch whatever drama there was unfold. My experience at the Jeff Lewis office has taught me a lot about what it is to work for someone who: has high expectations behind a driving force, may scrutinize you on a daily basis for their personal entertainment purposes, urges you to stay two steps ahead at all times, and perform and deliver at your best. One hundred percent of the time. But I feel in this industry in order to succeed, that is mostly how a successful design business is to be run.
I think it’s important to remember that even though during certain months we are filming a television show, after the cameras leave, things continue on just as they were – it is very true to life. My job is just like any other. I just happen to work for a medication-deprived, obsessive compulsive, merciless neat freak with a tendency to pick out your flaws and subject you to public humiliation daily. And I might be as crazy as the boss himself but in all honesty, I love it.
Trace, Thank you for showing such great character by taking a stand and supporting your boss in such a real and creative way. I am so sad all of you are going through this right now. Jeff has endeared himself to me by his truth, honesty and trasparency. I truly hope that Ryan and Jeff can work this out. Of course we don't know the whole story but from this viewer what I keep hearing is that Ryan is defending what he has done and I keep thinking that someone should explain to him that just because something isn't necessarily "wrong" doesn't mean that it is right.
Trace I think you are cool! Love your sense of style...and those shorts where not too short, but maybe inappropiate to wear to work...but hey it's California! I felt bad that Jeff needed to put you down, he doesn't know when to stop, but remember this is his obsession and can't help it..he still is very likeable...actually I love him and what he brings to the show, his show! he he
Nice post Trace.
Your right, your industry requires top notch effort. I'm glad to see you write that you admire your boss, Jeff. Integrity with exceptional drive make a vital mix in any business. That is if you want to work with those with the same values of integrity and drive. Best to you...
You fit so perfectly with the crew. I like that you are so even kiel and recognize what it takes to be successful. I hope you get more air time cause you remind me of a kinder, gentler version of Jeff.
You are as crazy as your boss and adorable. I love that you told the truth about being late (had to win a certain amount of games?) WHAT? Those shorts were absolutely too short for work in any office no matter their dress code or lack of one. I hope you learned a lot.
Trace, You are a great add to the show! And I love your hair sooooo much. Good luck in everything that you do.
