Season 3
Season 2
I regret screaming at Jenni. It was an extremely frustrating day, and although Jenni meant well, she actually caused a lot of damage when she decided to side with Christy (our client) against me. My goal in that lunch meeting was to convince Christy that sending the front door back to Arte de Mexico was not the wise choice. Although we bought the door pre-hung, the hinges were undersized and the door did not close or lock correctly. I exchanged numerous phone calls with Arte de Mexico to try to resolve the issues. Unfortunately, they did not accept responsibility and proceeded to tell me they did not normally sell door frames or do installation. That's funny, because they had no problem accepting Christy's money when we asked them to fabricate a door frame and hang the door. It was after Christy's check cleared, and we started to have problems with the door, that they changed their position. It didn't make sense to me to then ask Arte de Mexico to rehang the door when they had admittedly no experience in door installation. I wish they had been honest from the beginning, and I could have hired another company to not only fabricate the door frame but hang the door properly. I think that David from Arte de Mexico was afraid to tell me the truth about his limited door hanging experience in fear of losing the sale and my smile. I admit that there are very few $6,000 sales these days, but the reality is Christy and I loved that door and would have purchased it regardless.
Jeff, I love your show and really am trying to get my boyfriend to watch since he's into all the remodeling stuff. But really, I hope in next weeks episode you don't fire Jenny. I'm scared for her already, and as much as I love your show, the whole cast of characters is what makes it, not just you. ( Sorry but you dish it out pretty hard, I think you can take it.) If you fire her I'm firing you- I won't watch anymore. Please don't make me have to do that- I love your show. Really Jeff, your lucky they don't sue you at times. Trust that with all your talent, you have selected employees that have that "IT" factor. I'm delighted I get to watch all of them every week. You share them with us, and we fell in love with all of them. It just wouldn't be the same. If by chance you do fire her, Bravo, she deserves a spin off show, just like Bethany. Trust me I'm done with NYHW's, after Jills' shindigs but watch Bethany all the time. You need Jenny and you need viewers.YOU NEED US JEFF LEWIS!!!!
I love you. I am the female version of you. I'm proud of it! You are an extremely talented man and a very sensitive man although at times that is not apparent to those around you (the sensitive part). But, I had a job, worked in management and reacted a lot like you do. Now I don't work, I spend days, weeks, months undergoing cancer treatment. The doctors told me I didn't handle stress well. So the point - let things go (I mean some things). Life is too short. But love watching you!!
I enjoy watching your show but could you please change the intro song Please! It's just screaming. I love Zoila she got spunk. I also like your strict regimen on getting things done like your house assistant said your the Norman Bates of house flipping and design. Lol oh yea and your handsome. Hee hee
Jeff I saw the show today where you bought Zoila the car. I could tell in the one scene when you approached her in the bathroom while she was cleaning, that she had cried a lot before that scene. We are not privy to all the goings on of the show, but something is hurting that woman very much. I realize that the relationship you seem to have with her is the closest thing to an adult child living with their mother....so I know there is some underlying warmth between the two of you. What I would like to suggest is that Zoila feels like the one who is getting the backlash of your bad day. It isn't fun to have people who are closely housed with you to constantly harp on what is right and what is wrong with you. It is almost like a bad marriage, where one spouse is constantly picking at the other. In your case, it is like a stay at home son who is unhappy with his life and taking it out on his mother. Not to say you are unhappy with anything, but, just an analogy. I think you are very happy with both your business and your show, therefore, show it....life can be so much harder Jeff. As for the mural at the hair salon...I am not sure whether his brother painted it or just liked it, but if his brother is no longer with him, that mural has some pretty significant meanings..I lost my sister, and if I could have just one thing that she had in her possession that I knew she loved, it would be my most valuable possession. I happen to think that the mural is something that would give a new salon a very stately image. Things that give significant meaning to others, have a way of being special to all who view it..May I suggest that if you do put a frame around the mural, may you also put a plate at the bottom, explaining the special significance of it, for all who see it to know...and are able to appreciate it's presence....Jeff are you sure that you have OCD? or are you just a clean person? Sometimes we confuse the two. I am a clean person but I don't consider it an OCD...although when I see the hoarding shows I do itch...
You are such a girl!! lol I was finally able to watch last weeks episode, please stop yelling and being mean! We all know you are better than that. You can't yell and then turn around and apologize. The words are already out there. Why do you do that? I still think you are a goooood man! By the way, where is your blog from last week? Come on Jeffery get with the program. Maybe you should take a page from your staff.
Jeff I totally LOVE you this season. Congratulations on the expanse of your business. Last season there was so much distress between the economy and the situation with Ryan. I know you are overwhelmed but thankfully its because JLD is doing so well. On to Zoila...you are too funny. I know that you get frustrated with her (hopefully she is not as slack as she appears at times) but please don't yell at her. I can see that you really care for her and that is wonderful. The trip to NYC and the new car ... you're great. I hope that your personal life is wonderful as well.
Sounds like you should have prepped Jenni prior to to the meeting. Frankly, what is the big deal if she expresses an opinion, even if it does not mirror your own? You are dealing with the client, first and foremost, and if you had total control, you would not be worried that your assistant spoke up. Big deal. Sounds like trouble in JLD paradise.....again!
JEFFERY LEWIS!!!!! I KNEW UNDER THAT TOUGH LEATHER HEART YOU WERE A TOTALLY SWEETIESSSSS!!!!
Jeff, I understand being under pressure but I hope that you have a CT Scan done with dye of your heart to make sure that you have no implosions ready to happen. I had one done and it gave me a lot of comfort to know that my heart isn't going to kill me when I get upset. I also had an MRI done and I have no aneurisms there either. I'm OCD in dealing with my health. Houses come and go but you get one life.
Why are you drinking so much on the show? I think it sets a bad example for most young people watching because I've never known an employer who pushes liquor on employees. I'm just saying that it doesn't add to the show but it does add to your rounding face. Not good.
Hello Jeff,
Just wanted to let you know I love the show. Don't change anything. Also was that Monavie you had a shot of?
You're not pleasant at all to watch this season. I work in the same business as you and I know that you're on screen behavior has nothing to do with work rather your inflated head. Also, the good nature in you comes across as it always has since the begining of your show.... don't let the fame get to you, its not becoming of you at all. You have a great family and friends, and you have a great perspective on things. You're greatness is being clouded by fame. You know the difference, people reading this comment wont understand, but you do.
Peace.
Hi Jeff,
I totally understand your role as an employer, but can you please make sure that Zoila is in good health before you start expanding her role! I just had a premonition that maybe she is slowing down because something is not right -- she looks different than last season -- may be it is time for a physical if she does not already get them (and all the important lady tests) regularly.
Love your work ethic and your style!
G. NYC
GIVE ZOILA the weekend off JEFF
It is beyond me that Zoila does not have saturdays & Sundays off. This is SLAVE LABOR JEFF. Give this woman the time she needs , she is getting older and CANNOT do what she used to do. She said this season that she has 2 days off per month. THIS IS BAD. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?? IF YOU LOVE HER THAN GIVE HER THE TIME Everyone need to regenerate the cells before she burns out completely. A new Mini coop car, a trip here & there is NOT going to help her recharge. I want to see her with FRIday at 5pm off for the weekend!!! YOUR OCD Makes for good television but do not put your OCD off onto Zoila.
Jeff,
The car was nothing and it was a CHEAP car. Zoila doesn't need gifts. She needs love and understanding and compassion from you. I'm 57 years old, and you have no idea how someone our age feels. My legs, back, etc. hurt constantly, and I'm a little younger than Zoila. I can tell by the way she moves that she hurts and does not feel good.
Jeff, I implore you to not work Zoila over 4 days a week or more than 4 hours a day... and buy her a Phantom next time. She definitely deserves it.
really a 16 Hour week for $300,000 car, you must be kidding right!
Jeff,
You've grown a lot over the past few years and keep getting better and better! I love watching your progress on the show.
You are really hilarious and just so ADORABLE!!!
If you ever switch teams, please call me. . . (You can even call collect).
Love, Aloha
Jeff,
Danielle seemed very nice to you when you were together at What What Happens Live! You also seemed to be nice with her. Please offer her some support as it is very obvious that so much hate is against this woman. You might need the same thing in the future.
Success and happiness for you.
Jeff you are alright in my book nobody is perfect and you do have a big heart!!!
Jeff, I have adored watching you for the last 3 seasons. I noticed this year you are even more edgey ?sp? is that a word?..anyway, I know the pain of betrayal, and you definitely had the wind knocked out of you. This does not mean other people will hurt you. You have been very hard to Jennie and Ziola. Take a deep breath. You have a set of good people in your life. I think that Ziola and Jenny both love you and want what is best for all. I am so sad for you. I understand loss and betrayal...payback will be your success. ....
and God knows you are a genius..:>) Aloha
You have been such a gentleman in your generous and kind gifts to Zoila. Aside from the material generosity that the trip to NY and the new car convey, they really show deep devotion and genuine good feeling towards a motherly figure in your life. It is so nice to see you treat Zoila so well.
Holy Crap Jeff! You know Ziola is getting tired because she is working 6 or 7 days a week ( that would suck for me)and then being harrassed by you as she doing her job, she is getting older and you should lighten up..the car was a very nice penance. love you, love the show! love all the peeps!
Faithful fan!
Hi Jeff you know you are a good person but flipping out will not help you when it happens that your day is not going like it should life is too short to get mad just thank of all the good stuff you do and life will be good love the show keep going you so crazy lol
Jeff, the more I watch you the more I adore you! Love, love, love your sense of humor (did anyone notice the thousands of strings attached to Zoila's new car, LOL). I also had a tear in my eye when Zoila sat in her new car. It's obvious to anyone the deep affection you two share. Just be nicer!!! :) And it never hurts to tell someone you love them, I think you would be surprised at how warm it would make you feel, even if you have to laugh hysterically first!
Hi Jeff
Love the show and you. I do not know how you let Zoila talk to you the way she does. I know that she has been with you for 1 years however, she is the employee NOT the employer. You really need to put her in her place and if she does not like it there areplenty of people out there that would love to have the jjob. ALso, they would show respect
I have been watching since season 1 and have always thought about making commments, but haven't had time to actually log on to this website and take the time to do it. But when I watch today's episode I had to let you know how wonderful you are to buy Zoila a car. I wasn't expecting that, I mean you are so mean to her especially in this episode, but what a nice way to end the show. I really love to see you acting like a sweetheart and gentlemen. As far as the business goes, I think you are so stressed out because your still learning the job yourself and you haven't mastered it yet. It seems that in the past 11 yrs your job was to find properties and invest in them, while Ryan did all the designwork, and the contractor managed the construction labor part. I love, love, love you and the show but I think you need to take it easy on everyone else while your still learning yourself. Except for your contractors, they need to get a clue (except for chris and frank). Hope to see the "sweetheart" you can be in the next episode.
Dear Jeff
I think you are great but you do need to be nicer to Z. It would not hurt you to show your emotions on the show maybe give Z a quick hug, after apologizing for being mean to her... I know that is not how you roll but it would be nice.... I love love this show and the personalities that make this show what it is..... I also think it is funny how Jenni can write a song about almost anything... Wish you the best in all your business ventures because you are so generous to all your employees....
Jeff,
You are so FuNNY!!!! You have such a great personality! The truth is you hold the people around you to a higher standard , because you know they can do it. Also your only asking them to do the things you would do yourself. You are a very hard worker and simply expect others to treat you as you do them. I admire your commitment to excellence! If the world had more people in it like you wouldn't it be a better place. There is no allusions with you! You are what you say, and you do what you say your going to do! I find you to be refreshing to say the lest. Your a strait shutter that has an amazing personality ,and a heart that probably doesn't let that many people in I bet when you do, you love hard and for life. Sometimes I feel sorry for you ,because I feel that one of the reasons you work so hard isn't just for you it's for all your employees and the people you love. I understand I worked for a high-end Customer home builder in Houston, Texas for 11 yrs. and we were all like family ,and fought like family. That is why we were so successful! I mean lets face it if Jeff isn't making money the non of them are making money. You may get mad and spout off ,but when it comes down to it you ALWAYS do the right thing. Your sweet and I love watching your show. Your right about showing your appreciation to others. Just saying thank you ever now and then isn't what makes people feel appreciated, because words are just word. Actions speak louder! I only have one bad thing to say about your show is that it makes me get up and clean my house every time I watch it! I'm scary like that. I love things to be organized and clean!! Anyway have a wonderful life if you really do read these e-mails. I hope this made you feel good , because you inspire me to have a cleaner house!!!!
Thank you,
Jamie
Jeff, you need to chill out. Do not be mean to your housekeeper, Ms. Z. I do not know of any housekeepers who clean out kitty litter pans. Do not be such a slave driver. You should respect her if she were your own mother. Not only would very few housekeepers clean out kitty litter pans but not very many would serve up your food to you like you are a baby. You can scoop your own food out of take out containers. Also she should only be working 5 days per week. She should have the weekends off. Hire a weekend maid.
i just wanted to say that i cried watching your show today,i know its hard for you to show affection but what you did for zoila was just great,i know how hard it is to find a job and a great boss like you and even thou she does work a lot (7 days a week)and has to put up with your uhhhh how can i put it nicely.... i can't but you know :) i can see she is happy and feels care for
Hi Jeff !!! I just wanted to say how much I love watching your show. You and the group are so funny and you understand each other's humor... Being in the design business is extremely difficult and I can relate. Making a customer happy , sometimes comes at your own expense. My husband owns a tile company (Imperial Tile and Stone in North Hollywood, Ca) and we have the best service around. I would love for you to come by so we could start a business relationship. We have a beautiful showroom and can provide any sample you need. Please keep us in mind next time you need some specialty tile or any other stone. Thanks and looking forward to meeting you soon(hopefully) ---Liat Bachar
i was watching tonight and was horrified by the way you treat zoila and was ready to turn on you. i love the show and i think you and i are alot alike, i was pleased that you saw how needed some time was for her. the car thing made my heart feel really good. im glad you showed the flip side mister.
I just love you and your show. Your so handsome and clean and very funny. I just watched your show and I know u love ziola, Jenni is the best so talented with her singing & dancing. I just don't like the blond she needs to let go off the make it doesn't look good at all. Anyway stay handsome funny
I love this show Jeff your a hard ass,but just like my brother. Crazzy to watch and funny all at once.
Jeff, you need therapy for your OCD and stress issues. it's not nice to treat Zoila and Jenni the way you do. They are such nice people. And I hope you give Zoila a paid two week vacation one day. It only took her eleven years to get Sundays off. I also liked Jenni's Zoila song!
That was so great what you did for Zoila, buying her the car but also just the way you were sensitive to her needs and treated her. She's lucky to have you, and she knows it. It's heartwarming to see you two together. Wishing you continued success.
Jeff,
Zoila, 4 days off a week?? Would you want your mother to have only 4 days off a week? Think about it...Za
I have to disagree with the poster who said zoila's life is not her own, and would possibly want to do something else. We should all be so lucky to land a live in housecleaning job in beautiful L.A. for a single guy who is also on a popular tv show which even has his housekeeper in the show as well...His comments are really made with affection for this woman, anyone who has watched the show knows this, even through the arguments and disagreements. Lets not forget the lunches that she doesn't have to cook. She seems happy to me, and let's not forget, she is not indentured, she can leave whenever she wishes, but why should she? I am sure she is smiling all the way to the bank, and enjoys the excitement of the show being taped as well...They seem like a perfect combination for one another...There are much worse jobs out there in this world....I once got screamed at because I put a post it with a phone message on my boss's computer so that he would see it the minute he walked into the office and not miss it. His desk was so messy there was no way he would have seen it. And then they changed my job so that I would end up quitting, knowing that he now had a grudge that would make my life miserable. So as bosses go, and opportunities go, Zoila, I would say has found something that she really wants to do
It's obvious that you and Jenni really love each other and have a mutual understanding that doesnt always translate through the screen. Tiffs are pretty much the same in any 'family'!
Jeff, you need to listen to those around you. Jenni was 100% correct in saying Arte will fix the problem. You get them on the phone, they’ll address the problem immediately (are you kidding me…they’re on national television). It didn’t even look like you called them about the issue. I have a friend that works for Warren Buffet. He says the man listens to the input and opinions of his team all the time and acts on them a great deal of the time. He’s not the 2nd wealthiest man in the US because he listens to himself and himself only, nor is any successful person for that matter. Keep up that mentality and you’re only holding yourself back. There’s no one to blame but you. Just being honest.
jeff...i am a real fan of your reality program and appreciate the way you operate your business...planning for the furture, while focused on the present...no excuses.
i also appreciate what you did for zoilas b-day...i am a domestic employee for 18 years...but i believe zoila wants a different life style now...when you are employed in zoilas capacity, your life is not really your own...i know this from experience.
I can't believe that when you saw how visibly upset Zoila was when you mentioned her no longer working for your grandma, you didn't realize that she loves her and it's more than a "job" to her. How about you give up one of Zoila's days she works for you to give her a break? You came off being very selfish!!
Hi Jeff
Glad to see you got the NY job. Looking forwrd to seeing the progress.
Oh Jeff I am worried! 2 days for Jenni, WHY? I watch this show for you and her. Don't break up! PLEASE! I will pay for therapy!
Love you too Zoila!
Come to NY again!
I am a new viewer to this show, but have to wonder if taking on too many projects makes your ability to satisfy everyone reasonably well...and in line with what you had built your business on...I don't know what direction this show has taken since the beginning or how your business evolved...but one thing I notice is the switch and bait that seems to go on...taking on a client and then giving them to someone else...this would really not go over big with me as a client..and wonder if it is wise to show your business doing this on tv...will it give you a different kind of reputation? Apparently people want to do business with you for your attention to their details...I guess the show could be part reason...everyone wants to be on camera these days...not me though, I heard it makes you look ten pounds heavier....oh one more thing...I have to tell you when I bought my house new a few years ago, the contractor was in here for over 2 yrs on and off doing warranty work....very unsettling feeling...a bit like having to hug strangers...so I can imagine what your clients are dealing with when they have renovations...I hate having strange people in my living space...
jeff i love you! i would just love to have lunch with you! i would give 2 wks paycheck to do it!! i am a 52 y/o black woman with 3 kids and 11 grandkids (from 2 daughters LOL). not that it mean anything, just letting you know that you are loved by all!!! your lunch is the most fun part to watch. and you really like lunch!
LOVE< LOVE < LOVE ya Jeff.....Your awesome and your work is
AMAZING like you! You have a great staff so treat them a little
nicer cause they care & love you like me...Oh yeah, your so cute
and you have wonderful lips....I'm sorry, I had to put that in there..
HA! Keep up what your doing..
TRUE VERY TRUE NICE LIPS AND NOSE. YOU COULD HAVE EASILY MODELED.
Jeff, we all have mood swings and character flaws, and you definitely aren't the first one to take frustration out those around you. When you're employees write your checks they can tell what to do and how to do in, until then, do what you have to do. They are lucky to have you as a boss.
Maybe you and Jenni should go to therapy together so you can communicate more effectively. I don't approve of name calling but she would drive me crazy with her inability to really get and accept responsibility for her errors. I think she's a bit wounded from her past personal problems so she doesn't seem very open to criticism, even if it's constructive.
