Season 2
It takes about ten seconds from the time I walk into the office in the morning before I know whether or not it’s going to be a good or bad day at Jeff Lewis' office. He wears his emotions on his sleeve, and if Jeff is annoyed, the tone of his voice and the gestures he makes with his eyes are extremely telling of if it's a really bad day.
The more I work for Jeff the more I realize that crazy attracts crazy. Let me explain. There are certain traits that my boss has that set him apart from other employers, but I'm lead to believe that it is because of these traits that he has gotten to be where he is today. Now, he really gets a kick out of interesting personalities, and he selects clients he knows we will enjoy working with and in a sense entertain him. Being new in the design business and working with clients, I'm discovering that it's a thin line between having a client that is fun and entertaining and having a client that calls asking to speak to Monkey the cat.
One thing that is difficult in the construction business is working with deadlines. We try as an office to make sure things are being handled and taken care of as fast as they can be - to the point where I am calling to check on delivery statuses and following up with contractors as if I'm stalking them. Some things are out of our control, but we do our best to make sure things move as thoroughly and quickly as possible. Let's face it, there's always going to be drama at work.
Meanwhile, it’s still a great day a Jeff Lewis' office.
Trace you are awesome and you did not deserve to be slapped. I was so disgusted with Chuck I wanted to jump through my TV and administer a well deserved beat down!!! Shame on Jeff for not sticking up for you AND Jenny. Grow some Jeff!!!
Trace, I was totally shocked when Chuck slapped you. Several times in the scenes that lead up to the slap, I thought he was actually coming on to you, but in a very passive-agressive manner.
I've re-watched the slap several times. On the one hand, I admire the control that you demonstrated, although from the look on your face, it appeared that you too were shocked.
On the other hand, what Chuck did no doubt constituted a misdemeanor, if not a felony, and you would have been within your rights to call the police. I've worked my entire career for employers, and I cannot name one who would have not immediately, and in no uncertain terms let the client know that he was out of line, and that such behavior would not be tolerated.
And yet on the other hand, Trace, client or no client, if anyone slapped me the way he did you, I would have put him on his ass. There are just some things that job or no job, you do NOT tolerate.
Frankly, I am kind of surprised that there have not been more protests and outrage over the way this idiot treated you.
All the best.
Trace, Bless your heart that slap was really hard. But, I thought you handled it well. I mean you walked away with alot of class by not reacting to what was a very uncomfortbled situation. Congrat's to you and your new job at JLD it's been nice for all of us to get to know you better. You really have a wicked dry sense of humor.
Love the show!! I have watched it from the very beginning and you are a great addition. So glad that Jeff "got a clue" as to the value of Jennie. She has been there when no one else was!! Your client from Fl was a a..hole! However, millions of people got to see him be an a...hole!! Best revenge is to live well!
Trace, I am furious that Chuck slapped you. Why? This was not explored and I do not accept that he was just inebriated. I think there was some homophobia underlying it all. I thought Jeff should have stopped everything at that point and totally not accepted such behavior from a client. I thought Jenni would have said something more to him at that point. I would never accept his business or his money if treated like that. Your handling of such a shocking incident was phenomenan.
Janice.
Trace,
I love the fact that you are so calm and reserved. Congratulations, It was sooo nice to see your graduation ceremony. I got very mad when that guy slapped you. It was very big of you to not hit him back. I wanted to hit him for you.
Trace,
I really enjoyed tonight's episode showing your graduation. Congratulations! I know you'll go far and I can tell you are a VERY talented designer and a GREAT ASSET to Jeff's business. I did hate to see you get slapped by your client Chuck. That was NOT called for and I wouldn't have tolerated it as well as you did. I wanted to punch Chuck for doing that to you.
Hi Trace! I am so glad you are a part of this show! You are a great lookin hardworking man and I'm so glad you have such a great job! I'm also glad that you use your head and bring some relief to Jeff in the way of workloads.
I gotta say i get so upset with the current clips that show you getting slapped!
I makes me so very angry. I want to slap that dude right back. But for now i will just bide my time and wait for Tuesday.
Trace I hope that as you go through your career you will develop your own style for dealing with people. From what I have seen on the show, I realize that Jeff is just someone who can get by with more than most. There are not too many people who can talk to someone the way he does and not have them getting hostile and taking away business..I know I couldn't get by with it...and most can't....I hope you realize this so that you don't get off to a bad start in your career....I think you are trying really hard from what we see on the show...but you are this generations young person coming up in their career...and I realize you don't have the same kind of experiences that perhaps JL did..keep that in mind...I know that on the show I have heard Jeff say that you could replace him, but quite honestly, I would rather see an individual be who they are and replace someone, not a carbon of the previous owner....you get what I'm saying....good luck
Hi Trace,
I would love to have the receipe for the martinis you make for the office! Ive searched the site to see if any body else asked, but no luck..
If you can send it to me it would really be cool.
Thankyou
Audri

Trace
The longer you work for Jeff, do you feel that some of the OCD bleeds over to you? Just wondering. . .
Aloha
Trace, Bless you and your folk's who have made you such a great young man.
I see in you a very self-made go getter, When I see you working, your in
to what your doing? You are-not thinking , just get through the day so I can
get out of here, meet the pal's at local pub, and waste your life away. I see
you being a very happy person inlife, having what you want, making it for
yourself, and you will, Just don't do what some do in life, which is, when you
do get what you want in life , don't ever get a big head?? Remember this
everything, and anytime, it can all go away!! I truly wish you many year's
of greatness, your going place's, I so admire your work ethic's, and you
really have life at your finger-tip. Your a good kid, love seeing you in the
show , hope to see more of you. Love Monty
PS. I think Jeff has a real admire, feeling ,and plan's fore you. He see's in
you I think , determination, a youth going place's, so let him help you get
there!! He think's of you as a fresh start in life going to the top, so take
what is offered, life too short for make-up's, do the hard work now while
you can, you can rellish what you concore in you mid year's,as you slow down.
HA HA , don't laugh, it come's un-expectedly, Best to you Monty
Hello, Flipping Out is my favorite reality show. I think the entire cast of characters just click. Jeff Lewis is my hero and I just get him. I get his personality and his sense of humor. He has a great work ethic as well. My partner and I watched every episode religiously, often more than once. My partner of 16 years passed away in Feb from throat cancer. I asked for a autograph from Jeff and I received one with a touching note from him very quickly. This made my partner feel special and gave him hope however the cancer still won. Trace, you are lucky to work for such a talented man, don't take him for granted. He gets a little crazy sometimes but that's a part of being a genius. I with I were you, Sincerely, Anthony.
I too love this show and you just made me love Jeff even more! I'm sorry to hear about your partners passing. Remember all the good times and live life to the fullest for both of you now.
