Season 1
If I may, I would like to be completely honest with you. I know that the experience I am getting today working for Jeff is an experience that is rare. I'm a recent college graduate who is entering the workforce at a very difficult time, especially in the design field. The fact that Jeff has given me the opportunity to do what I love makes me feel not only fortunate but really lucky. Knowing this, I try to perform to the best of my ability because A, I know that I am lucky to have the job that I do, B, there are hundreds of people who would jump at the chance to have my position (ok, ok - for many it would be out a window but jumping nonetheless...) and C, I know only one way to finish something and that's the correct way where I pour everything I have into it.
I love what I do and I feel fortunate everyday.
Being twenty-two, enrolled in school full time, and working 30+ hours a week isn't a walk in the park. I was not only faced with work and school, but the urge to do what my friends were doing who didn't have to worry about being late for their office job in the morning, catching an early morning flight or a client meeting. I was trying to juggle it all. Jeff likes to offer me advice and when he does, I listen to what he has to say because 90% of the time, there's value behind it. I've always been soft-spoken but when it comes to designing a space, I have a vision. I'm now feeling comfortable expressing my ideas to clients and having people listen to what I have to say. I think I was worried how credible I might seem, but the truth is, I'm realizing that my opinion is just as good as the next, and this is why I went out to get my over-priced design education!
I'm not an overly-affectionate person. Especially when strangers are involved. I think Barb is a very sweet woman, but I like my personal space. I like my personal space very much. And when someone comes in a little too close, I tense up. I'm learning to interact with clients better, but I'm not certain I'll every be the hand-holding-long-embraced-hug kind of guy. Just like I'm not the kind of guy who urinates in a plastic container to have poured on the roof a garage. But apparently I am the kind of guy who works for someone who puts me those kind of positions. But let's face it, no matter what I am "forced" to endure, it's been a great day at Jeff Lewis' office.
I hope for you the best. You seem like a hard worker. Remember that those friends who are enjoying themselves will not have the great future that you will have. Keep at it with Jeff, he will teach you more than you can learn in school! Good Luck!
You are adorable and I appreciate the fact that you know how blessed you are to be learning from someone like Jeff. Sarah thinks she can mail in the work because she's "family" and Jenni really just wants to be a comedian, rapper, or actress. Jett hasn't shown any ambition I've see yet. You and Zoila are my favorites.
Trace, I love you on this show! I think although you're quiet you're HILARIOUS! Do not give up what you love doing. Learn all you can from working with Jeff. I know you'll have a great future in that business. Take Care!
P.S. I also love your sense of style!
I love you on the show and feel your pain, I work for a man who can be just like Jeff, we have our moments but at the end of the day I am happy to have a great job with great people! Keep up the great work!
Loved the episode Trace!, I'm so glad Jeff is letting you spread your wings a bit. Its not easy meeting with the masses and projecting yourself, but the more you do the more people will respond to you and the easier(hugs aside) it will become for you to let down your guard a little. You are very talented and I am sure you will have a long career in design. Cheers, Matt.
I think you have a great future ahead of you. It must be hard putting up with Jeff but, it will pay off in the end.
You are great! I'm so glad you are in the show more this year. I love all of your facial expressions! I would love for you to design any space for me and my family. Good luck to you. I'm sure you will have a successful career in the design business.
TRACE! NO SHORT SHORTS BUT LOVED THE SKINNY JEANS! YOUR STILL IS TOOO DELISH. P.S. I WAS I LITTLE SKEEVED WHEN THE LADY WAS HUGGING YOU TOO!
Hi Trace, Learn as much as you can from Jeff, even he can be a pain in the *#@. It will pay off in the end.
What model are the ray bans you were wearing when you and Jeff were riding in a car? I love those sunglasses and want a pair so bad!
Hi Trace! You're sort of the "stealth cast member" on the show, but you have really grown on me! You're a great foil for Jeff, and I love your facial expressions when he goes off on his crazy tangents. However, he sees a lot in you, and this season I am starting to see it, too. He wouldn't have hired you if you were not full of potential, so soak up the experience, learn all you can, and you will have an amazing future. xoxo Shelley
LOVE YOU! But not in the hand holding hugs kind of way!! You so rock and you crack me up with your young awkwardness!!! Can't wait to see more of you this season :)
Tracie. Get over the personal space! Once you get a BF, you will open up. Just suck it up, the old ladies love guys like us and trust us, we can tell them anything and they go with it (we are their Queen Mary's). Get the experience with Jeff, cause when he is retired in Fort Lauderdale with all the other GSC (Gay Senionr Citizens) you can take all his clients from him!
OOH and those short shorts! No black, get some color!
Hey Tracey :) I appreciate your desire for personal space but it was quite sweet to see all you guys hug Barb. She's wacky, but definitely seemed like a riot and a nice person. I'm not super huggy either, but sometimes it's nice to have an affectionate connection with someone. Jeff was truly testing you that day at Bob and Barb's and I think you did pretty well! As far as urinating in plastic containers? Well, we all have to do some things at work we don't want to-your boss' requests are just a litle more strange than most. I hope you continue to enjoy your job and have continued success. You seem to have a real passion for what you do, as well as talent. The fact that Jeff has so much faith in you is a testament to that. Thanks for the entertainment!
Trace, ur sooo HOTT!!! Too bad ur not straight - I's own u, hee-hee-hee :) Anyway, ur totally amazaballs, all the best to you... Cheers!
Trace;
deal with your personal space issues at your own pace. Do not let anyone here or in your world tell you to suck it up or get over it. I was like you at your age and it took me a long time to get past it. I had to drink in order to feel comfortable in a crowd. When people stood near me talking and moved closer I would move away without realizing I moved away. It's your deal. Your world and when you are ready, you'll feel comfortable enough to give hugs and be in the moment with strangers.. Peace to you and you are an amazingly beautiful soul outside and most especially inside..
Hi Trace, I luv the fact that you appreciate the experiance Jeff is giving you and I'm sure he appreciates your insight on projects he has undertaken. I luv the show and I'm soo glad they're showing more of you. You and Jenni are my favs!
You are in a great position in your life... especially in this economy. I know you are thankful for that. You are young and bright and certainly have the energy to balance work and fun time - though it may seem tough...I get that. Take advantage of what you are offered in life! HUGE Flipping Out fan...Love seeing you on the show...

I like that they are showing more of you on the show, you kinda remind me of Jeff LOL :-D
