Best show on Bravo...love love love Jenny, Jeff, Gage and Zola who by now should be fluent in English...but ain't!!
I would really like to know who he thinks he is? Did someone die and make him God? Demands an apology? for what? it seems it has to be his way , and everyone has to cater to his every whim... pathetic, Jenni leave...
Jeff is a jerk... Jenni is the one that knows how to talk and deal with clients.. What is she supposed to do. not have a life, get married , have children? Jeff is a selfish , self centered jerk.. If it was not for Jenni bringing the human side out in him , he would have nothing.
I think Jenni should leave, especially if she is planning on having children soon, she does not need the stress for that jerk... She has worked for him for years...You should know by now she can be trusted and would not embarass you... PATHETIC JEFF!!
Watching an encore airing of this episode, I just see a lack of perspective from Jeff. He needs to understand at least one viewpoint of the show is that although he's a talented designer and successful businessman, he's an extremely difficult personality to love. Especially as a viewer (someone who only knows what's aired), he's hard to embrace; it's the other people in his life (Jenni, Zoila, Gage) who provide clues as to what's lovable about Jeff. Without them to humanize him, he would just be another jerk on TV. It is COMPLETELY understandable that Jenni is able to connect with his clients on a personal level of which Jeff is not only incapable, but unaware—it is not at all surprising that people offer her gifts:
1. Because they've seen her on TV, they may feel they already know her.
2. Because she works for Jeff, she's trustworthy.
3. Because she has such warmth, she's the buffer between his social awkwardness and professional genius. People like her! She helps so much to make him likable.
Even though Jenni works for/with Jeff, she is still an individual. It's conceivable that although she might meet people through Jeff, the relationships she creates can exist independently of him. Her responsibility is to keep those relationships from hurting him; if they enrich her, however, that's to be expected and celebrated. The risk with Cabogate was that Jenni could've left the borrowed vacation homeowner with complaints about Jenni. The problem was not that Jenni accepted a gift from a client (that's fairly common in real life); it's that the gift had strings attached to Jeff and his work and therefore, his professional reputation.
However, it's Jenni! It wasn't some johnny-come-lately opportunist cashing in on Jeff—it was Jenni, his long-term assistant and beautiful TV co-star. He should know that he can trust her not to embarrass him—and she didn't. She's a proven representative of his brand and a proven friend to him who accepts his difficult personality and softens it by absorbing a lot of his agressive hostility and helping him see that not everyone has negative motivations.
Jeff needs to relax and give Jenni some of the same acceptance (love) that she's given him. He needs to stop keeping score and stop adding up the dollar value of the friendship and understand that what he has with her is much more valuable than any of the ways he's been counting. He's beyond fortunate to have found such a good friend who also happens to be an excellent work partner.
I just put my baby down two days ago. The hardest decision of my life. My condolences for Monkey. I feel your pain.
Hi Jenni Im catching up fast but still just starting season 3 of the show! So far Im loving you and I hope I will still be when Im up to date. Seems to be trouble ahead from what Im reading here!
Jenni, you have a private life and no boss has a right to tell you what you should do on your private time, there are law suits pending on this issue, so we will see what the outcome is. Does Jeff have a written policy manual on private time and clients or gratuities as this can be looked at. if not you have a perfect right to do what you did without notifying jeff of your trip. As a former DON i must say now that you are running an office learn the law of your state regarding employees and make and or get a policy and procedure manual and have each employee sign that they got one and read it. Hunter
Jenni, you are/were wrong. Come on already, we all saw how everyone was keeping the honeymoon a secret, even your sister and mother knew not to bring it up in front of Jeff, it was not because you were afraid of him coming, saying that is insulting to everyone. The book: OK, AGAIN Jeff wasn't included in this, when it's about him! He has been burned way to many times from past "friends" so therefore AGAIN, you should know better, and you do, so that makes me wonder. If you can't remain loyal to the man who's got you were you are today, then leave his office. Jeff is a good hearted man, who takes care of a lot of people, and I don't want him burned yet again.
I think that willing to lose a friend over a book deal / 15 minutes of fame is really sad. I have lost a little respect for you with this one. I really do still like you but not enough that if the book does come out that I would support and buy it.
of course I just reread what I wrote and missed a few key words like "Not" before cooperating! OMG... Okay, who cares, OCD... LOL
I watched the last episode the other day and had to write. I don't usually write anything about shows, especially Reality Shows, but this show has really become one of my favorites! I came across it changing channels one day about a year ago and totally got hooked. I love Jeff and can relate to his crazy personality because I am similar to a degree. I have zero patience when people are cooperating or taking things seriously, yet I love to goof around and I love love to scare people! So I find his antics hysterical and I would have a blast working with him. Also I love the design work!!!! I love all the people on that show. Jenni is great (you look ALOT like Julia Louis-Dryfess) (spelling??) and Zoila is a character. Just a great group of people to be together in front of cameras. The main reason I wanted to write is because I felt sooooooo terrible for Jeff with the passing of Monkey. I have had to do that earlier this year with my cat and I know it totally sucks and that episode had me crying through a box of tissues. I love my animals and I know those decisions are the worst!!! So just basically wanted to say, love love the show and sooooo very sorry for your Loss of Monkey! Looking forward to the new season. God Bless... (have a drink, lol...)
Jenni, I love watching you, Jeff, Gage & Zoila but you are to smart of a girl not to tell Jeff that you had been offered the house in Cabo. To tell every person and not Jeff, I have to agree with Jeff that you had to know it was not a good choice and now on the book deal. People that work closely together like you do usually always share what is going on in their lives and it would have been so easy for you to discuss the book with him.
You can apologize all you want, Jenni. Jeff is demented. I see now he's suing you. Leave that chaotic mess & enjoy your new married life. You have enough fans to support your own show minus, the great Jeff, a legend in his own mind.
To all the staff at Jeff Lewis Design my deepest condolences regarding the passing of Monkey. I saw a family brought together to help a loved one pass to a place with no pain, just love. My heart aches along with all of you. I too have had to put down beloved members of my family and it never gets easier. Rest assured that they know you love them. I too believe that one day we will all reunite. Bless you all.
I love your personality. You are beautiful inside and out. I think you have a great voice and hope that you are able to get more rapping/voice over gigs.
Can you tell Jeff that aside from watching you all, I really enjoy watching Jeff's animals on the show. I especially liked watching the cats since they show more personality. It's heart warming to see how much Jeff loves his pets. I actually balled at the end of the episode when you guys went to the vet. I said the same words Jeff said about being the worst thing he ever had to do in his life when I put my dog to sleep 2 years ago. What eased my pain is that I found that animals do go to heaven so he can see Monkey again one day.
Thanks and Happy Holidays!
I would like to extend my condolences to Jeff as well as to his friends and staff. While I was holding my dear cat, I cry while watching the episode in which Monkey was at the Animal Clinic. It was painful to witness Jeff saying goodbye to his beloved cat. Fortunately, little Monkey isn't suffering anymore, and I am quite sure he is dancing amongst the stars and watching over you Jeff. Good continuation in your endeavors.
Have loved watching Monkey all these years. Heart-broken about his passing. Jeff is at his best with his pets. They are blessed to have each other. Pets are ironically such a source of humanity for so many. RIP Monkey - we'll never forget you. MHealy
I watch Flipping Out basically because I love Jeff, OCD and all. Love his sick sense of humor and it just makes me laugh. I have two cats and cried and cried when I watched the episode regarding Monkey. I'm sorry Jeff, I know how it feels. The thing is, I was not privvy to Jenni's book, or Jeff suiing her. I feel that sometimes, in these sometimes really silly reality shows, people suddenly think they are major stars and have to grab for that 15 minutes. If all of that is true, I say get out Jenni. I think you're cute and all, but like I said, the real star is Jeff. By the way, I really could not see what Jeff saw in Gage until the Monkey episode, and then you could get a glimpse of how much they care for each other. It's not all that serious Jenni if you leave. You can be replaced.
To Jeff, Gage, Zoila & Jenni.......From the bottom of my heart I wanted to send my sympathies on your loss of MONKEY. I like all of you are an animal lover and I have had to put down my dog for health reasons as well. It is so sad to lose a family member, but remember Monkey is not in pain nor suffering anymore, and always in your hearts. God Bless, and again I am sorry .....Debbie
I am interested in knowing your side of the story as to why Jeff is suing you over a book deal that you have made? I would really be disappointed in you if you are using your relationship with Jeff and this show to advance your own career at his expense.
This episode was sad because of Monkey, but also because of your dispute with Jeff. Despite a long friendship, it seems that neither of you trusts the other. Jeff is so unwilling to acknowledge Jenni's part in his business and television success. I think that Jenni needs to leave, so that she can achieve her dreams. She is beyond being his paid staff member. Oddly, Jenni's behavior in hiding the Cabo trip details and apparently now writing a book about having a difficult boss does not help his trust issues. Best to part and move on.
just wanted to post a note to the entire cast and most of all to jeff. thank you for letting us the fans share your tragic goodbye to monkey. i was so sad for all of you and it was great to see all of you come together as the family that you are. god be with you all and monkey.
I know this sounds crazy, but you are all of you , Jeff, Jenni, Gage, Zolia like my family, I love you all, and feel priveligded to be invited via Bravo tv into your lives. Yesterday was ...so heart wrenching, ..I just could not, could not stop crying. It was almost to much bear..especially anybodys who has ever been so devoted to a pet. (and lots of us out there, me included) ..it must have been so difficult for all of you. ....so this morning, at my age the puffy eyes from crying my dears, not a good thing. But my first thought was of ..a baby maybe, yes and you know what else, actually got me excited? ...WELL how about this one, You'd be wonderful parents as will Jenni and Johnaton will be, and ...this journey together! The trials and tribulations, the children growing up together in my mind thats how I see the future and it's a happy ending.
*ps, Jeff commented about Zolia being the only one he can trust with his child, true, just to add, raisint 3 of my own, you need be leary of playmates too. Some kids are very strange, and or mean, it becomes and issue if you don't have a protocal with the parents of same ..so things can be addressed. food for thought! love love love you all!
I think it is is very sad that the only way Jeff thinks he can obtain loyalty and respect is by putting someone on his payroll. He uses money to control others...sad! Recently I saw an episode of Dr. Phil were Jeff's assignment was to take care of these kids. So, what does he do? He offers them $20 each, to behave themselves. Typical Jeff! His boyfriend Gage, his assistant aka "best friend" Jenni, his housekeeper aka "mother figure" Zoila, are all on his payroll. He treats them like dirt whenever he feels like it and then tries to erase his wrongdoing with a smart comment or a present. He feels better by ridiculing others...typical signs of a bully! Wow how mature! The only reason he gave Andrew a second chance was because now he can truly manipulate and use Andrew's insecurities to torture him, because he knows Andrew is terrified of loosing his job. He uses people's mistakes to his advantage, chastising them as if they were 5 years old. He acts like the victim when things go wrong, without taking responsibility. Jeff needs serious help or he is going to end up alone. People will "put up" with him because they have to, but never truly love him.
Jenni, I love you, but what is wrong with you? I think you have self esteem issues. Why do you let Jeff treat you this way? The truth is, Jeff will never have a better friend than you but for some reason he continues to push you to the limit. Why do you take such verbal abuse from him? Seriously! You have an amazing new life ahead of you. You have a man that loves you and supports you. This is your time to spend it with him and enjoy each other. Also, you are an actress and a very multi- talented woman. You are limiting yourself by staying with Jeff. Stop making excuses for him, saying that "deep inside he means well". Friendship is what about what a person can give you now, in the moment, and not what they feel inside and never show. He thinks that just because he pays you, he owns your actions and thoughts...he needs help! You can keep him as a friend but you and your marriage are top priority. Never let any man talk down to you like that. You are too precious!!
This was the sweetest show, you are a family. Love you guys and Jeff is such a softy, just needs to be sure of you. Blessings to all. (just not with a broom)
Heartfelt sympathies for the loss of Monkey. I have had to do the same with two of my beloveds over the past three years. Still cannot bring myself to adopt another as of yet.
Please let me know if Jeff would want Monkey immortalized on canvas. I do this quite often and it helps a bit to have the beautiful reminder....
I had to put my beloved cat down in Aug. My heart goes out to Jeff..It is so hard and heartbreaking, they are not just pets, they are family
Don't like the way you blog at all. I am a huge animlal lover and I know they are like family. But, aren't you still being sued by Jeff? Soft side or not Jeff is all about Jeff. Do you think he would give two cents if one of them lost a pet? I see Gage and Jeff eventually going their seperate ways. Jeff is so far from being ready being a father. You need to move on and out of his shadow.
I am glad Jenni and Jeff seemed to work it out, and I hope it is not true about a book. Although if written in the right and constructive way about how to deal with a difficult boss it might be okay. I am long retired and I REALLY like Jeff Lewis....but, I admit, he would be a handful to deal with!! And all sorts of boundaries are crossed since they all work together from his home and thus, are "family" as well as employees. Jeff is obviously the boss, but I would like to see him give Gage's feelings more consideration. They are a couple...therefore, they should discuss and make decisions together. Seems like Jeff makes the decisions for both of them, and then just "dumps" it on Gage -- as if to say silently"....."if you don't like it, then get out". A true partnership allows equal time and consideration to both partners feelings. I do feel Gage is a nice leveling factor for Jeff. Jeff can get carried away with himself and say cruel, nasty, selfish things frome time to time. Okay, we all forgive him....underneath it all....he is a good guy. Jeff, please be more considerate and discuss things with your partner before making "arbitrary" decisions. If I were Gage, I would feel like a guest under your roof........don't think that's what you want, especially if you are thinking of adopting. I am a lady in my early 70s, but I think you would both provde a good home for a lucky child. You go, guys.
I have 2 cats. I have had to put a cat down before. I cried when Monkey was taken from this Earth. I cried when Jeff talked to Monkey. I cried when I looked at my 2 cats and thought of having to do the same some day. I hold my cats close and whisper in their ears tonite ---- in honor of MONKEY .....I hold you close tonite and think of you dear sweet MONKEY...and your sweet human JEFF tonite....
RIP Monkey...dear sweet boy.....
I really wish Jenni's blogs were about her actual thoughts and feelings on the episodes rather than just a general recap that could be read on TV Guide.
I hate to say I told you so....good se up, good together, sad for Monkey...but look what all he's done for you all! Good luck, and if you leave Grammercy you are truly crazy!
Except for the loss of Monkey, alls well that ends well. Thank god you are still there and seeing a tender side of Jeff helped soften my feelings about him. Good luck to all of you and my fingers are crossed that the next time we see you Jenni you will have a precious baby in your arms.
I adore Jeff, I totally get him... and yesterday you saw why. I watch the show just because of him... I do like the others but he is the one that really takes my heart.
Jenni did you get a chance to explain to Jeff why you accepted the Cabo invitation? I feel like you must have reciprocated in some way (future entertainment perhaps?) so as not to seem like you were taking and not giving to your benefactor.
im glad it did a 180 from last week , bc I was heated the way he acted. I know you love Jeff n what he was saying was him projecting his character on you! Best of luck in your marriage.
Totally agree! Gage thinks Jeff would make a great father? Gage is delusional about that. It's called child abuse, Gage, if you help make Jeff a father.
what a hateful thing to say. I don't buy for one minute you a 'seasoned veiwer' sound like a hater to me.
I agree with alot of things you say here, 2 points I'll make just to 'add' I personally had a crazy boss in Boston years ago, screaming, nasty comments, omg, he used to throw things at me. He was a money maker ..but oh lord. Old school stuff. Loved the job though, loved that crazy old codger boss of mine too, rip. second point is ..I've been married for 19 years, I don't know many people that are lucky enough to have a equal relationship, good with the bad, warts and all. nothing in the house is 'mine' it's all 'his' "his kitchen, he likes the pans 'This way' he doesnt even cook. gotta take the bad with the good, though I do feel for Gage and Jenni and the big Z sometimes
What a wonderful thing you shared here, Pamela55 your making me cry again all over today reading this, god bless
I think it is an underlying issue for Jeff. He seems very resentful towards Jenni. He know her life is about to change in a very big way.
He didn't have to get mad about the Cabo thing, but he chose to. Jenny is a very likeable tv personality and a celebrity in her own right, people like to offer things to celebrities....it's what happens when you become a celebrity/bravolebrity.
It is unfortunate that he had to degrade her with so much anger. Not comfortable to watch.
