Jenni Pulos

Jenni Pulos isn't sure about her new HR position.

on Sep 18, 20120

Vanina heads to Human Resources (me). Jeff publicly calls her bathroom habits into question, and I write several people up. Not sure about my newly appointed HR position. Awkward... Who do I report to? Me?

Andrew’s antics have not amused Gage one bit. He leaves work early to pet sit and tries to blame me for work not completed. Jeff explodes.

Jenni, I was surprised to see you on a rerun of Monk the other night. You were wonderful. You're funny, talented and I look forward to Flipping Out every year. Congratulations on your marriage, your husband looks at you like the sun rises and sets on you! I hope we get to see the wedding.

Hello Jenni: It sure seems like you are the only sane one on this program, each of the others seem to have so much personal baggage, and decreased mental health issues.  Jeff, the ultimate authoritarian boss, but he is not happy out the outcome. One of the major things that could help him is business dynamics which teaches that you have to float your management style for each employee, this runs the gambit from authoritarian—laissez- faire each employee must be assessed and handled differently, and when they change the management style with each should change as well. Jeff needs to calm down, we all know he is homosexual, so he does not have to through it down the viewers throat, Jeff is also not comfortable with himself, so he blusters, hollers and says, look at me I am so big; do not mess with me or else. Jeff not only sexual harasses his workers he also verbally abuses them, He needs to be taught to go into a quiet area and talk with the worker and help that worker become a better worker instead of hollering at them in public. I am sorry about accenting on him. Congrats on the wedding and I hope all turns out for you the way you wish it. I hope you did right giving up \your dreams for Jeff and his business, what if he gets mad at you one day and just in a fit fires you, look how much you have lost. If it had not been for you I would not watch this program, I had enough dissonant in my life for 10 life times. Your voice remind me of the woman who does the sex advice show on the radio, on the matchmaker program. Hunter

Jenni,  I've watched every show, and hope you'll read this, even if it is long.

This is my view mainly of Jeff:  Have you noticed that Jeff IS ABLE to reign in his temper?  He does NOT scream at difficult clients.  He only screams, comments with disdain and dismissive sarcasm to people he considers "under" him.  He'll do the same thing to a child, when there is stress about the child not completing homework, or not cleaning his/her room - Jeff will cross the line and destroy the child's understanding of love.  If that kind of yelling is love, I sure wouldn't want any.  His yelling is inihilating (sp?) , not "blowing off steam."

All of his employees began working for Jeff with a sense of boundaries.  They've been so beaten down by him, that they no longer have the inhibition to answer kindly or with respect to his abusive commands and comments.  People rebel when treated unjustly. Bosses can CHALLENGE emloyees to perform better and step up their performance without yelling.  Jeff's manner is abusive under anyone's standards of behavior.  I wish someone would tell Gage to run now, rather than later, especially if he wants to be a parent.   Yes, Jeff has kind moments and he's very funny and witty.  Except he, most often, abuses his employees; and in your case, friend because he feels entitled because he signs the pay checks, otherwise, why doesn't he talk that way to the people who sign HIS PAYCHECK?

Jenni, are the cons outweighing the pros for you, now?  The last aired episode, where the issue of office harrassment was being addressed, really changed my view of Jeff's comments.  I saw "Flipping Out" as a work place more than as an entertaining hour, and it was not  very fun to watch anymore.    Not so funny.

I actually saw an impressive side to Jenni in this episode. She makes a great HR director. As a viewer, I saw her diffuse some tricky situations, was firm and direct but still compassionate with Andrew, and really took leadership in this role. Jeff is better at the business and organization creative skills, Gage is a counter balance to Jeff (which is desperately needs), and Jenni has the people skills. If they could all just pull it together, stick to their strengths, and draw upon the others' skills when necessary, they could have a solid business (but maybe a less entertaining show). But Bravo, shame on you for letting Andy smoke in the car with that dog. Not cool. Also not cool for subjecting that dog to being carted around and left in a car during all that mess.

Jenni your new position is perfect for you! Unfortunately, I'm sure that the rules you attempt to enforce will apply to everyone EXCEPT Jeff. While that expectation is usually entertaining to watch, I can't believe that not one past employee has ever taken him down with a lawsuit. There have been episodes where his behavor/comments made me cringe and I thought for sure that's going to be a lawsuit. But he has certainly lucked out so far and I hope his luck holds up for many more seasons because I absolutely love the show. Gage will hopefully help keep Jeff in line. We don't see enough of the new girl in the office, hence I don't remember her name. Andrew.....WAY too much fluff and antics for me. I love watching your wedding preparations and wish you all the best. I hope that you do your fairy tale wedding and ignore Jeff's comments about the cost. I think you're wise enough to not allow your emotions to overwhelm you when making decisions. I can't wait to see the wedding and I know you'll be a beautiful bride.

I don't think it is very fair that Jeff's workplace has his dogs but he couldn't make an allowance for Andrew to pet sit another dog....I would have hoped that Jeff being a dog lover would consider the 'dog' and not penalize him because of the 'sitter'.  And Jeff's boyfriend needs to get a heart.....people make mistakes....they don't always think before they speak and if anything Jeff's show - shows alot of emotion that could and should be curbed to promote 'professionalism'.....I know Jeff has a heart....he clearly is a very emotional individual....and has demonstrated that alot....I"m not impressed with his boyfriend though.....I think he could do better.....definitely like Jenni and Jeff better than that 'other guy' don't even remember his name....is it Gary?  not sure.....
