For more than fifteen years, James Lipton has sat down with more than 250 of the world's most accomplished artists — ranging from actors and directors to musicians and comedians — for penetrating, fascinating interviews. Lipton's scrupulous research and boundless curiosity has prompted his guests to share the deepest secrets of their craft.

The series premiered in 1994 with Paul Newman, the then president of the Actors Studio. Each episode is taped at Pace University's Michael Schmmel Center of the Arts before an audience that includes the students of the Actors Studio Drama School of Pace University (www.Pace.edu/actorsstudiomfa) for whom it is a class in their three-year Masters Degree program.

Inside the Actors Studio, which  is broadcast in 89,000,000 homes in America on Bravo and 125 countries around the world, has recieved a primetime record-breaking fourteen Emmy nominations in fourteen years.

In addition to his duties as host, writer, and executive producer of Inside the Actors Studio, James Lipton is the founding Dean Emeritus of the Actors Studio's Drama School.
