Denis Leary has been on the stand-up scene for over 20 years, but the actor hasn't limited his work to comedy. He is the co-creator and star of the gritty firefighter drama, ''Rescue Me," which has received critical accliam and numerous award nominations.
Leary got his start on the MTV game show, "Remote Control" in the late 1980s. Soon after, he took his one-man comedy show, "No Cure for Cancer," to the Edinburgh International Arts Festival, where it premiered to rave reviews. The show made its debut on London's West End and eventually on Broadway in New York City. It premiered on Showtime and ultimately became a successful comedy album.
Since making his mark on the comedy scene, Leary has appeared in countless films, including The Ref, The Thomas Crown Affair, and the Ice Age films.
He recently received on Emmy nomination for his portayal of Michael Whouley in HBO's Recount.
