Betty White finally gets her hands on her Emmy.

on Sep 23, 2010 - The Dish0

Did you catch Betty White at the Emmys last month? No. No one did. Sure, she was honored for her hosting stint on SNL, but Betty didn't make the ceremony, so she didn't get to bound down the aisle, bask in the adoration, and pick up her trophy. That's where James Lipton comes in. He surprised Betty with her hardware when she turned up for the season premiere of Inside the Actors Studio, giving her the chance to pick up her award and a little of that adoration.

The show doesn't air until next week, but we have your first look at her golden moment.

But James doesn't stop there. He rifled through his blue index cards while Betty talked about her now infamous "dusty muffin" SNL skit, and her sadness at the passing of Rue McClanahan. Catch it all on the premier of Inside the Actors Studio on Tuesday September 28 at 8 p.m.

Just watch the Betty White show it was the best one yet.She is a true trail breaker in tv when I watch I could not believe how much Betty had done in her career. The interview With James was excellent and when she spoke about her Husband i had a tear in my eye. I wish that I could be at one of the interviews as this would be a life changing day as i am a complete film geek...

I also teared up when she mentioned Allen standing at the gate waiting for her. You could see in her eyes and hear in her voice how much she still loves and misses him. :(

I have to say I cried from laughing so hard at the things that Betty says but the one thing out of all of the show I will remember is when James asked her if there is a heaven and you are at the pearly gates what do you want God to say to you and she said "Betty here is Allen". I cried so hard on that and I am tearing up right now just writing about it. I watched her when she was on game shows and in the Golden Girls.

Betty, all I can say is Allen is so proud of you!!

I certainly enjoy Betty White as an actress, loved her on Golden Girls...but I am confused by something that I have noticed in the last year regarding Ms. White...it seems like she is being required to play a Rose/Blanch character....she is always alluding to sexual content and quite frankly, it is kind of embarassing to those of us whose mother is her age....I certainly think we can enjoy a Betty White without the geriatric nympho act...She is just too good an actress to have to put on that kind of personna at this point in her life...I simply don't believe her real life personality would reveal alluding to sex all the time....I wish people would embrace her and her longevity in hollywood without expecting something crude coming out of her mouth.. but sadly that is how the "now" generation in hollywood has become, they only seem to allow an older actor/actress into the fray on the condition their age can be a running joke....this woman deserves better..

mr. lipton made an error in information OR he did not watch "the golden girls." but when he was talking about the girl in the clip about the many layers of rose, he stated that the girl was dorothy's bratty granddaughter. she was a neighborhood girl who was at first extortining things and then money from blanche & dorothy to give up rose's teddy bear, fernando.
